Nobody can even sniff filling an arena these days besides WWE.
I don't know, I think it's embarrassing to book a dome and then use like 5% of the capacity.
WWE usually has to tarp off the nosebleeds in Milwaukee, Except when they had Elimination Chamber here which sold out every available. And yet they never seem to make an effort to bring a PPV to Milwaukee a town that for the most part loves wrestling, Yet they go to places where they have to tarp off almost an entire side of the arena. Granted being at a 3 hour RAW isn't very fun.
Earlier, I got an e-mail pushing tickets to the RAW in Newark Monday...they said it's their first time (for RAW) at the building...so I wonder how much of the building is still available.
Even WrestleMania has tarped off a good portion of the seats at the two I've been to...Survivor Series and Royal Rumble, too. Hell, WrestleMania at the Citrus Bowl and Sun Life Stadium cuts off 1/5 of the stadium because that is the entrance side before they tarp off corners and other spots. After all of the tarping, even the biggest show uses a venue @ around 75% capacity.
This is pretty strange though, for TNA. My guess is they are running the Alamodome to just say they ran the Alamodome.
I dont think they'll have any issues selling this out. Maybe they'll look to expand it.
It's set up for 4,000.
When has TNA ever done 4,000 paid? I can't recall one instance.
Like biss said in the other thread, if they load this up with AAA dark matches, they have a chance to maybe, maybe fill the place with a couple thousand hispanics. I went to a Lucha Libre USA show in Austin that drew about 1,000 paid, 90% hispanic. San Antonio is closer to the border and AAA will draw better than LLUSA. So 1,500 or 2,000 is not unreasonable. TNA can draw the other half if they push Hogan & Hardy hard.

London or BFG in Detroit in 06. Those are the top 2 that I remember off the top of my head. They probably both broke 4,000, but who knows how many paid....

Right, so a show in Europe where they eat anything up, and something from 6 years ago.
I will try to dig up numbers for both. Do you happen to have an appox date for that London shot?
2006 Detroit - 3600 (4500 cap.)
2007 Atlanta - 4000 (13,000)
2008 Chicago - 5000 (11,800)
2009 Irvine, Cal - 2400 (4984) *originally booked for Los Angeles, moved to University of California
2010 Daytona Beach - 3500 (8582)
2011 Philly -3582 (10,206) *Hogan was the draw
2012 Phoenix - 2900 (5000)
So they usually book small to mid size buildings for their biggest event, and never fill them. 2006 came close. I don't know if these are paid figures, but im guessing they aren't.
I think it will be a close call if they do 4,000 for Lockdown. BFG this year only did 2900.
