DREAM in name only, different owners, using DREAM name to drum up more interest in the MMA fights, which is ironic since DREAM basically went under to begin with since so few people cared.

Still, as a fan I will take it, a bunch of interesting fights booked.

I wonder if screaming banshee lady will be doing this show or something else. New Japan booked her for Tokyo Dome on the 4th, so she might as well grab another pay day.

Frank, Mauro and Quadros did very well on commentary, but it simply felt weird to not hear The Voice calling the action.

Production values really lacked and definitely lacked the spark of previous K-1 events. It was essentially ran like a typical GG event rather than the extravaganza that an NYE show is supposed to be. They did not even bother to cater to their Japanese audience aside from throwing a couple of local guys in superfights. Everything was in English with an AWFUL Swedish announcer. It was VERY UFC 144-ish and it did not go over well. Not a lot of crowd energy. I can't wait to see how this compares to the DREAM portion of the show.

I thought I was going to hate the 2-minute rounds, but it was fine. Lots of good fights, but poor refereeing dampened the event. The rules clearly dictated that fighters would have three seconds in the clinch, but the refs would immediately call for a break, legit knockdowns called as slips and a very questionable decision to call the tournament final early with less than 10 seconds left.

Semmy might go down as the GOAT.

Mauro's all over the place thanks to Showtime. I like it.

watched the MMA portion...nothing extravagant, some nice quick fights (Manhoef's knee to the body against Kang....Aoki landed a punch to McKee's eye which had him tapping....BIBIANO looked awesome, choked Maeda unconscious).

Frank calling Baroni's bad weight cut practically immediately into his fight was LOL, as he went on to lose gas and Sakurai won by decision.

I wish American MMA scored fights based on the whole fight and not the 10-point must deal.
