Best of 2012 - Honorable Mention: Abroad: Part 2

I changed my mind a bit...I'm going to divide the foreigners up into three parts. No need to have 12 matches in one post...regardless...

    Prince Devitt (c) v. PAC
    NJPW 06.06.2012

Oh boy, what an awesome match. PAC's chest would be beet red by the end of the match and he'd flippy flop all over the place. Devitt would be his limey bastard self. PAC improved a lot over the past year and a half and Devitt is one of the best in the world. Expected results.

    Yoshihito Sasaki vs Daisuke Sekimoto
    BJW 26.03.2012

    MOAR Sekimoto!

Kazuchika Okada (c) v. Hirooki Goto
    NJPW Wrestling Dontaku

This is the first of a few entries on the list featuring Okada. He is the most improved wrestler in the world and has skyrocketed into the upper echelon of performers in the entire world in the span of a calendar year. He's got the most badass, well-booked finisher in the business. He's a must-see performer at every pay per view and this was his second title defense against the always awesome Hirooki Goto. It should be noted, Okada didn't have a single bad match all year.

    Dean Allmark vs Nathan Cruz
    All Star Wrestling: UK 3/24/2012

Dean Allmark /James Mason v. Rampage Brown/Robbie Dynamite
    All Star Wrestling: UK 3/17/2012

Why? Because good wrestling abroad can be found in more places than Japan and Mexico. Dean Allmark is one of the most technically sound wrestlers in the world and his match porfolio is extremely accessible. He's got his own Youtube channel filled with hundreds of his matches. These two matches are his best matches in 2012.

    Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Minoru Suzuki
    NJPW Wrestle Kingdom VI

This would be the match that Hiroshi Tanahashi broke the record for most successful IWGP Heavyweight title defenses.

Masato Tanaka (c) vs. Tomoaki Honma
    Road to WrestleKingdom 12/23/2011

Awesome match on a throwaway show at the start of the Observer clock. The crowd eats up the near finishes at the end and the deep sigh of the crowd when Honma loses is akin to a kick in the balls. Tons of cameos by some of NJPW's top talent on the outside makes for a great atmosphere. FWIW, this match would be my most underrated of the 2012 cycle.

Working...
