TNA adds taping next week

TNA will be doing a special taping on Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to fulfill internatinal commitments caused by not doing a February PPV show.

The show will feature a Jokes Wild tag team tournament, an Ultimate X match, an X Division Escape the cage match and more.

There will also be a Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn singles match, and a combination of current TNA stars like Jeff Haredy, Bobby Roode, Christopher Daniels, James Storm, Samoa Joe, Joey Ryan, Jessie Godderz, Matt Morgan, Robbie E, Mr. Anderson, Robbie T, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Hernandez, Zema Ion and Doug Williams, with returning wrestlers like Petey Williams, Amazing Red, Matt Bentley and Jimmy Rave. A number of new wrestlers are also set to debut.

Spelling errors are not mine, although "Jokes Wild" is certainly a Freudian slip.

So El Generico dropped the DDT title and cancelled a PWG booking on the same date as this taping.

-What awful name will he get?

-How badly will the miss the joke & botch his gimmick?

-If he does well & gets over, will they never use him again (Jigsaw/"Rubix")?

So are you saying Generico lied to PWG (they say he told them he was hurt) or are they trying to save face while not being able to say anything (if he's appearing in TNA)?

DDT4 was gonna have Generico/Steen vs. the Briscoes for fuck sake.

I'm just speculating. FWIW, Steen says the rumor is bullshit and it's all a coincidence.

He didn't look banged up vs Omega, but he did take less chances.

Who knows. I guess we find out next week.

Quickly gauging opinions on Twitter, appears to be 2 camps...

1) Meltzer throws one line out there and it blows up into something ridiculous

or

2) Where there's smoke, there's fire

Yeah.

Meltzer mentioned in the newsletter a RUMOR that Generico was going to do the TNA thing, and as you know if something is in the newsletter, it ends up being repeated as FACT.
