How mad is Cruz, Aldo, etc...? Rhonda getting 75k/75k plus PPV cut
Im sure they are mad. There has been a lot of misogynistic talk the last few weeks from fighters & fans on this topic.
There will be egg on the face of Dana if this doesnt work out. How much business this fight does is far more interesting than the fight itself since Dana went all Vince McMahom on this one and booked a jobber to showcase his new toy.
Lol @ you guys thinking fighters don't get mad if someone gets paid more that they don't think should
Rousey will have up the "bonus" money these guys get plus more guaranteed, she already has sub of the night locked up
I'm not saying they don't, we just can't assume that Cruz isn't being paid well and can't assume that he's even earning less per than Ronda. What if Cruz gets a bigger % of PPV buys than she does? What if Ronda doesn't have a PPV % at all.. Is the UFC technically still operating with Ronda's SF contract, or did that expire? If they didn't make a new deal for her then that would explain the high guarantee and likely no other incentives. Just too many unkown variables to go by guaranteed.
Eddie Alvarez's situation shows just how much is loaded into these contracts that we don't know about, aside from the different cash bonuses for subs, ko, fotn.
- Alvarez would get an eight fight deal starting with a $70K/$70K (show/win bonus) and he would receive a $5,000 bump with each win until $210,000 which would be guaranteed.
- He would receive a $250,000 signing bonus.
- He would receive $1 for each PPV buy between 200K and 400K; $2 for each buy between 400K and 600K and $2.50 per buy over 600K.
- Alvarez would also be guaranteed a fight on Fox and opportunities to guest commentate on UFC branded events.
Now, whenever he gets into the UFC we would only see that he's making 70/70 and think he got a raw deal. But, in reality he can easily bank $400k+ per fight. For someone that's not really a huge draw to begin with I think that's pretty substantial.
