    EPL Gameweek 22 Discussion

City haven't won at Arsenal in almost 40 years in a EPL fixture...Better change this weekend. Can't drop anymore points. :balotelli:

Have to wake up @ 7:45

Will be interesting to see how QPR plays coming off beating Chelsea and drawing West Brom.

Also will be interesting to see how the Spurs play on the road, Haven't had a road game since last year

We coming for that second spot

In Citys last 3 games @Arsenal they have 4 shots on target.

ESPN ran a nice article that was actually on the MAIN PAGE about how much of a pussy Mancini is when playing Arsenal. Good read for those interested.

We need to show up Sunday. Hoping to see Downing at left back and Hendo in the midfield. Downing at left back would show that we're going for it which is what I hope we do. Plus it allows Johnson to stay on the right where he is more effective.

Been getting my roommate into soccer. I've got him hooked on FIFA 13 and Saturday might be his first day watching an EPL game. Now just need to get him to follow Everton with me.

On Football Weekly today, they spent a decent chunk of time going on about Nuri Sahin and just how badly he's been wasted at Liverpool. Rodgers fought to get him, beating Arsenal, and have never put him in a position to succeed. A guy doesn't go from Bundesliga PotY to not being able to beat out Jordan Henderson over night.

Apparently rumours are going around that he will rejoin Dortmund in January. Hopefully that's true as I really like him and want to see him playing instead of rotting. It's a shame he didn't go to Arsenal, as his kind of deep lying calm is exactly what they need

In BR's defense he wasn't all that impressive in PL games. He just doesn't really fit with us. If he did, then he would be playing.

Didnt take long for those rumors to come true. He is going back to Dortmund today.

This has nothing to do with Liverpool wasting him, and everything to do with a player who hasn't been that great since he left Dortmund. Sahin wasn't able to play his way into the team in Madrid and when compared to Jordan Henderson, just hasn't played with the same intensity. Combine his lack of mobility with his penchant for giving the ball away and he was never bound to force his way into the Liverpool side.

Sahin hasn't really played well for the Turkish national team lately either, and as someone who has watched him since his time in Germany, he's just not the same player he was at Dortmund. He's just not. I don't know if he's just never regained his confidence since his injury a few years back because he's not been playing or what. But saying "A guy doesn't go from Bundesliga PotY to not being able to beat out Jordan Henderson over night" is kind of off base considering this didn't happen over night, it happened over a span of almost 3 years.

He's a good player and I'm sure he'll do well at Dortmund, but he's not a dynamic enough player to fill in the deep lying roles when he's asked to fulfill defensive duties as well. At Dortmund he was paired with Sven Bender who is a centerback masquerading as a midfielder, he was just asked to pull the strings. He may have done slightly better at Arsenal since they had Diaby but I don't see it turning out much different. He would have been merely a backup to Arteta and now that Wilshere is back, he'd probably play even less.

Also, as a Sevilla supporter, I'll be massively disappointed if Negredo moves to one of the London clubs. Sevilla's president is in London and it's thought to talk to a club about selling him since Sevilla need the cash. If a English club signs Negredo they'd be getting a massive player. Someone who is absurdly underrated in Spain.

What a boring game, not sure why Ade got the start over Dempsey and of course Ade missed an absolute sitter for a goal. Gotta give credit to QPR though for their defending, pretty much had everybody back. Not sure why AVB waited so long to make changes when what he had out there wasn't working Hopefully Ade goes to the Africa Cup of Nations so Dempsey will start more regularly.

The Sunday Supplement is interesting this morning. They're verbally fellating Brendan Rodgers as the man to lead Liverpool back to the top and as an excellent manager, while castigating Fergie for once again working on the ref before the match and how the FA are powerless to actually do anything about it. Also they're questioning why Webb was appointed to the United-Liverpool match when everyone can see Webb's bias, despite supposedly being a good ref.

Patrick Barclay also made the interesting point that it wasn't Fergie who knocked Liverpool off their perch, but instead it was Arsenal who did the most to do Liverpool in.

Arsenal need to fight or the second half could get ugly.

First half was some of the worst we played all year. I don't know how we we went in only down 1-0. We played as 3 separate groups, not as a team. Had no linking play, leaving Suarez on an island. Second half we played very well and I was waiting for that second goal. Should have gone for it in the first half though, not sat back.
