Yep, with the last cars they could wait till the backstretch to start making a move...learned today that the same won't work with these new ones.

Unless Tony Stewart is involved. It's a shame he wasn't around at the end to spice things up.

I found this to be the most boring Daytona 500 I've ever seen. This was more like the Daytona 60, since they only raced the last 20 laps or so. NASCAR absolutely has to do something about this aero package. Cars couldn't suck up to each other at all. Maybe they'll add a wicker to the roof like they did to the cars back in the early 2000's.

For my first 500 from start to finish, I really enjoyed it. Can't wait till Phoenix next week.

Can someone explain to me why more drivers didn't move down to the inside late in the race? I would think that the inside is naturally a more advantageous place to be ...but, it seemed the top 5 were content to ride high until Junior and Mark Martin moved down to try and make something happen.

Also, bad day for Toyota. Those teams that run Toyota's and get their engines from TRD...what is a time table for a possible explanation for why the engines kept blowing out?

As for why no one could run the bottom, I think it's down to a couple reasons. The cars would scrub off too much speed on the bottom and thus couldn't get any momentum going. Also, it seemed like if the two lines got close together, the bottom line would just stagnate. I think what Waltrip was saying about side draft stalling the line might be true.

yep, the race sucked. a total snoozer. the first time danica is on the pole and nascar had a chance to shine. but nobody cared about winning, they just cared about finishing. and this wasnt even racing, it was driving around playing follow the leader and hope at the end that your spotter could make a deal...which obviously nobody made a deal. coming down the last 5 laps and they just rode around not making a move and once they got down to the final lap you knew it was over.

this is the super boal for nascar and they had one of their most popular drivers bringing out a shitload of media attention and viewers who only watched to see how she would do and this is how your drivers perform....pathetic.

and what was with james franco saying drivers, and danica....how lame

I'm just assuming Franco didn't consider Danica to be a real driver.

NASCAR is terrible to watch.

I was hoping Danica's boyfriend would wreck her...that would have been great.

Also, Danica has aged very well. She is still pretty hot, IMO.

Nascar will do something to fix the draft. That Nationwide race was great even without the bad wrecks.
