Sabres have fired Lindy Ruff

Pretty much said unbelievable when I read it.

- Their AHL coach is taking over for the interm.

- 571-432-162 record over his career.

- Sabres were booed out of their own building last night and that was the tipping point after a poor start.

He has been a dead man walking since the splurge and disappointment of last season. Not that he is the one who tried to make Ville Leino a franchise player of course ... This is as good an example as you can get that no matter how good you are as a coach, you can get stale.

I doubt there will be any immediate turnaround in performance.

Ville Leino - 4.5mill for another 5 years, Steve Ott 2.95 for another 2 years.

Thomas Vaneks insane contract over the last 5 years (although I guess its paying off this year).

Drew Stafford was given 4 years @ 4mil a year after having one 30goal year.

I could go on and on but the problem isn't coaching in Buffalo.

Just got home a couple days ago and heard this. Terrible decision. Fans and players aren't happy, as can be seen by there recent performances and media bites since the firing. Lindy isn't the one getting/paying for the players, Darcy Regier is the problem. Always liked Lindy and he can't play the game for the underperformers.

IMO, Ryan Miller is the next to go. Not the goaltender he once was, gets paid a lot, has a big mouth, getting up there in age sorta.
