ROH show has been quite good so far. Place is packed and the crowd really into the show. I walked in near the end of the ACH match...he was over big time. MIke Bennett returned...good segment and good match against Shelton Benjamin. Lethal Elgin was tits. Go out of your way to see it. That ran over into the 10 man which was fine.

I'm guessing SCUM has devolved into an Aces n 8s gimmick?

For those of ya'll that missed the ending.

Really good match. Really good moment.

Steen works over Jay Briscoe for most of the match. Jay starts to get an advantage. SCUM comes out. ROH fights them off before they get into the ring.

The ROH crowd plus his family surrounds the ring and let Steen/Briscoe go. Few near falls. Jay kicks out of Package Piledriver. Crowd goes bonkers. Briscoe goes for the Jay Driller, Steen puts on a crossface. Jay gets out. Hits a belly to back suplex. Hits a lariat. Hits the Jay Driller. Crowd is shocked as fuck. Crowd goes absolutely crazy with Holy Shit chants. Hit whole family comes into the ring. Streamers everywhere. Steen shakes his hand. They play some Lynyrd Skynyrd. He thanks everyone.

              ROH Show was quite good.

The first half of the show, prior to the intermission had a real good vibe. The crowd didn't shit on anything.

ACH was hot as hell. Won his opening match (only caught the last 5m or so of it). Looked like a lot of fun.
Mike Bennett came back and crowd ate he and Maria up. Shelton Benjamin and Bennett had a good fun match. Crowd was into it.
Jay Lethal-Michael Elgin is the match of the weekend so far. Really really good.
The 10-man was fun live. Its what you would have expected it to be. I haven't watched much ROHTV, but I assume SCUM is an Aces and 8's gimmick?
Intermission. I took a huge piss. I felt great.
Karl Anderson was well received...the crowd knew who he was...he and Roddy started slow, but ended well. Good match.
The threeway match was kind of a clusterfuck but Truth Martini and Matt Taven had an insanely slutty looking chick that Nigel got a lap dance from.
The tag match was exactly what you'd expect. Really really good. Second best match of the weekend thus far.
Steen and Briscoe was a very good match, perhaps eclipsed by the great moment of Jay Briscoe winning the title.

Overall, ROH delivers. They always deliver on WM Weekend. I really liked the show. The rest of the crowd seemed to love it.

Go out of your way to see:

              Lethal-Elgin
Anderson-Roddy (less so than the other three)
              Wolves-Dragon
              Steen-Briscoe

Great show, ROH was. Tremendous stuff even with some filler throughout the card.

First off, crowd seemed like a legit sellout (no reason to believe otherwise) and they were hot for most of the show.

Larry was right on, ACH was the star of the opener and my first time seeing him (for shame), has that IT factor, even for a shorter guy.

Elgin STOLE THE SHOW. This guy better be the top guy in the company sooner than later, is the ultimate bad ass to the NTH degree, awesome facial expressions and the action is incredible. At one point late in the match, Lethal hits him with something and Elgin no sells it, has this *YOU MOTHERFUCKER, ARE ABOUT TO DIE* look on his face, I love this guy. Best match on the show, hands down.

What pisses me off about this SCUM deal is it's stupid. Why does every promotion need an angle featuring some outside group looking to KILL the promotion? Surprised ROH is playing this retread deal. Whatever. Seeing Rhino was sorta fun, looks EXACTLY the same as he did over a decade ago. Steve Corino is outstanding on the mic and playing up a sort of preacher role I guess. Cliff Compton's beard is the best thing about him. I liked Jimmy Rave around 06-07, he's had his personal issues and is back, a little chubby but glad he's on the up and up. Didn't recognize Mike Mondo at first, solid dude. BJ Whitmer in another invasion angle. Yay…not. Jimmy Jacobs cross dressing, whatever. There were 2 black dudes on the ROH team, NO IDEA who they were.

At first, surprised Karl Anderson won…then figured he'd win tonight and lose tomorrow at the TV taping. Solid match with Strong, hard hitting stuff you'd expect.

The 3 way match was weird in that it seemed a sizable part of the crowd didn't give a fuck about anything other than chanting shit at Matt Hardy (perhaps deservedly so). Corino was awesome here, again. Adam Cole didn't stand out. Neither did Taven either, really. However, what did stand out was the awesomely fat ass on the red headed chick. Dayum!

O'Reily has such a baby face, looks like he's a teenager. Bobby Fish is awesome. Wolves did what they do, tons of hard hitting stuff, moves you don't see anywhere else, etc. Back and forth, plenty of near falls you'd expect to be the end with AW winning, but the old ROH kick out bonanza stuff. Tons of stuff happening, great match, but definitely a back seat to Elgin/Lethal.

The main event…for fuck sake. I don't think people were into it for the first half because figured absolutely no one imagined Briscoe could win. Lots of Steen fans, too. SCUM began attempting to interfere but Mark Briscoe and a group of ROH babyfaces would come down to stop them from interfering. One big fat dude with a cowboy hat and a beard, didn't realize he was part of their family till after the match.

All of a sudden, Steen hits the package piledriver for a 2 count. Briscoe ends up hitting the driver for a near fall and you figure okay, now it's time for Steen to finish this. BUT NO…they do a bit more (think it was Hardy about to help him out but Steen knocked him out of the ring or something similar) and Jay hits the driver again and GETS THE 3. Shocked the fuck out of me.

Awesome scene afterwards, seemed like the entire Briscoe family got in the ring and celebrated (Papa Briscoe, perhaps Mama Briscoe, at least one of the guy's wives were there, two children, the cowboy hat & beard guy and then another giant fat dude). Jay asked for Gimme Back My Bullets, Mark "danced", Papa sang along and that was that.

2 great matches and a finish to the evening like that, sweet.

I really want to write an article, or somehow document my time with Kaiju Big Battel, in case I ever want to remember it should Alzheimer's kicks in...and perhaps one day I will...but right now, I can't put into words, poetically, what exactly it was that I saw.

It truly was one of the most odd things I've ever seen. Andy Warhol thought it was weird.

I'd never go to another and I wouldn't admit ever going to see this in front of anyone other than ya'll or my boy that I went with.

Also, the class of individual that had gone to this...holy fuck.

There is a time in the show...perhaps it was after Dusto Bunny, when the novelty of seeing this wears off and you're like "wtf am I doing here...I should be at a strip club at 1am"...

Chikara announced a record crowd, over 1000, I saw pics and it looks legit.

Like I said on the podcast, great decision to charge premium pricing ($30 GA, $50 front row), looks like a monster $30K+ gate, good for them, good for indie wrestling.

And the thing with Chikara, is they don't need those monster gates to break even or make money. They get their own guys over and don't have to pay big names to draw casuals. They made a fucking killing today.
