You know what that match felt like? "Hey... we're two really big name/legendary wrestlers. Let's just wrestle and stuff for fun." Cena went on about how "this match means everything to me" and it never felt that way. It was the same old SuperCena bullshit.

Punk and Taker delivered. Very very good.
Cena and Rock was good, but they lost me after the 18th AA attempt and 15th Rock Bottom attempt.

Everything else else was a safe "take the walk" effort.

It needs to be said tho, that HHH/Brock match was kind of shit.

Watched it at a buddy's house and gave him $20. Feel like I got ripped off. One match card and a bunch of stuff that would have been average on any old PPV card. The main event was not only a rematch but a dead-standard Cena match and lacked an epic feel. Punk-Taker delivered but nothing else felt worthwhile.

Thank fuck I paid $25 for the New Japan pay per view last night.

HHH is tougher than Frank Mir, Shane Carwin and Randy Couture.

            It's WM 13 except Bret/Austin > Punk/Taker while WM 29's supporting stuff > WM 13's other stuff.

Theme of the weekend was fantastic booking and matches that were expected to deliver delivering.

New Japan is the unquestioned best promotion on the planet. Dragon Gate/EVOLVE is about 1000 times more interesting after this weekend. ROH has new life.

Chikara, Dragon Gate, SHIMMER, and I believe EVOLVE all broke attendance records. ROH sold out Hammerstein and I believe broke their all time gate. WWE surely broke the all time gate in the history of the business.

New Japan had another legendary show and legendary match. If you arent paying attention, well, you have no right to complain about shitty wrestling. The hottest promotion in years is having an all time run of greatness, and you are ignoring it. That's on you. It's free and easily accessible.

              The Winners:
              New Japan
              CM Punk
              Johnny Gargano
              Jay Briscoe
              everybody who did record business

              The Losers
iPPV, including WWE debacle which was worst of all
              Extreme Rising
People who paid $70 to watch WrestleMania or god knows what to sit in MetLife

People still pay for wrestling? I streamed that shit for free, and I still feel like I got ripped off. I want the bandwidth back.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Alvarez said WrestleCon is doing New Orleans next year....tough to predict which of the big indy groups will make the trek (tough to believe ROH/DGUSA won't, right?)

Who knows whether NJPW will have another big show early April 2014....what a glorious weekend it's been.

DGUSA/EVOLVE already said they are going.

It will be tough for many of the groups to go, because in Louisiana wrestling is still governed by the athletic commission, so everything is more expensive. You need a doctor at ringside, for example. Wrestlers have to be licensed, etc.

They are expecting 1.3 million worldwide PPV buys, so yeah, there are many many people who still legit pay $70.

Outside of PWS, I'm sure every company made bags of money...enough money to warrant the trek for another big purse, I'm sure.

I would say that a large majority of the people that purchased or went are completely satisfied or better with Mania and whatever purchase they made.

Personally, I love the whole damn weekend. I love that WrestleMania is so fucking huge that it creates this huge event for Independent Wrestling. And the Indie talent absolutely brings it. The whole wrestling world converges on this stage and the talent delivers. at an insanely high rate.

WrestleMania will never be for you and for the most part, not for me or for a small sect of fans...thats just the way it is. I love the grandeur of it all. When there is a big match that delivers, its epic on a level nothing at any other level of wrestling can compare. But, its often safe and basic. How many heel turns have come at Mania? How many game changing moments have happened? There haven't been many.

you have to have an ambulance at the show ... and pay a commission rep to come collect a % of your gate ... its bad
