Bouwmeester to STL for 2013 1st, Reto Berra and Mark Cundari

Feaster gets a good pick but fairly jokes for prospects.

6 first round picks going to 2 teams (Flames and Jackets).

Columbus is going to have 2 picks in the 10-20 range, and probably one in the 20-25 range, and Flames will have 1-5 most likely, probably a 20-25, and the #30
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Bouwmeester also has recent history against him, plus a high cap number. All things considered, not a bad move at all for Feaster, especially to get that cap space.

If Feaster drops the cap numbers of Iginla, Bouwmeester and Kiprusoff, he's done what he's had to do. Yes, I agree he doesn't get the right prospects, but the big job here is getting that $20M in cap space. He waited too long on Iginla and Kiprusoff and paid the price. Bouwmeester a damn fine defenceman, but never really made a difference for Calgary. The team is in the same spot now at the time they acquired Bouwmeester.

Any contract Calgary can dump, they should.

That current Flames roster makes Calgary irrelevant, nuke it and start over.

Does the cap space really matter to them right now? They're nowhere close to the limit, and it's not like FAs are going to be lining up to join that dumpster fire of a lineup. They should be trying to dump anyone of value so they can make a run at Seth Jones.

Umm, they were right up against it before dropping $9m in salary

From a pure business perspective it obviously makes sense. No point in the business running at a lower profit margin when they are this gash. Save that revenue for a few years from now when they are looking to get in some rentals.

I think 1st for Bouwmeester is totally fair and to get some prospects who might become NHL players that's just gravy.

I know, but gaining cap space is never the primary objective of a rebuild.

Yah it really doesn't matter all that much since Ignla was on the end of his 7mil deal. Bowmeester was pretty much gone either now or at the end of the season anyways but calgary was like less then 500k initially from the cap and it wasn't looking good for next season.

Will be interesting to see if they trade Cammalleri away. I'm thinking they'd at least try to get a 2nd or late first back considering they paid their 2nd rounder away for him.

Quick Update to this to. Conditions for the pick have been released.

If St. Louis doesn't make the playoffs this year that 1st round pick turns into a 4th and St. Louis retains their first rounder this year.

                    Sweet deal feaster you idiot.

That is a horrendous condition. Feaster can't even blow the team up correctly. Fortunately for him St Louis will make the playoffs.
