    Post Trade Deadline Predictions

If you knobjockeys don't get at least 10 posts in this thread then I'm petitioning to get this section merged into other sports.

    West
    Chicago (signed, sealed and delivered)
Anaheim (not going to collapse at this stage)
Minnesota (give them the edge over Vancouver but they could easily flip spots in the end)
Los Angeles (practically the same team as last year)
    San Jose (surging)
Vancouver (what could have been if they had moved Luongo and got in for a guy like Jagr?)
Detroit (they're good enough to make it to the playoffs)
St Louis (goalie woes holding them back but puck luck will turn for them and they will sneak in)

    East
Pittsburgh (wrapped up, same as Chicago's seed)
Boston (clinches the North East on the final day)
Washington (well shit, someone has to win that farce of a division. Ovechkin is getting back to where he should be and Washington therefore has the quality)
    Montreal (lively 4 seed)
    Toronto (how did this happen?)
Ottawa (Going to flag a wee bit, but good enough to stay in the top 6)
New York R (ready for a fresh start)
New Jersey (not a very lively 8 seed in my opinion)

    1 Pittsburgh 8 New Jersey
    2 Boston 7 New York R
    3 Washington 6 Ottawa
    4 Montreal 5 Toronto
    1 Chicago 8 St Louis
    2 Anaheim 7 Detroit
    3 Minnesota 6 Vancouver
4 Los Angeles 5 San Jose

    1 Pittsburgh 7 New York R
    3 Washington 4 Montreal
    2 Anaheim 8 St Louis
    5 San Jose 6 Vancouver

    1 Pittsburgh 4 Montreal
5 San Jose 8 St Louis

    Pittsburgh San Jose

Killgod, get off wr50l's account you admin abusing homer. :puft:
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

      East
      1. Pittsburgh - locked up, nothing needs to be said.
      2. Boston - Will be neck and neck with Montreal
      3. Winnipeg - Someone has to win this division, I think they hold on.
      4. Montreal - Will battle with boston, setting up the mother of all playoff match ups
      5. Toronto - Did nothing today, and should hold on to this spot since everyone is healthy now, and they are clicking
      6. Ottawa - Have to stop thinking they will slide because they just keep winning games some how. Good add today as well
      7. New Jersey - three way battle with the two New Yorks, will edge out for 7th.
      8. New York Islanders - Will finally get back into the playoffs

      West
      1. Chicago - Just have to keep going, easy #1 in west
      2. Anaheim - Should have #2 locked up, could make a push to battle Hawks for top
      3. Minnesota - Good adds today should give them that little boost they need to beat out Vancouver
      4. Vancouver - Added a little more depth, same team though.
      5. Los Angeles - Others added more that will put them in the 6th spot unless they kick it into gear again
      6. Detroit - Will hang around to keep in the playoffs.
      7. San Jose - Gave away and picked up. I think they will struggle, but will make it in.
      8. Edmonton - Nashville seemed to trade away some of their top guys, and with Halak out and Elliotts shit play, I could see Edmonton sneak in if they keep playing solid hockey.

      Playoffs
      Pittsburgh over New York
      Boston over New Jersey
      Ottawa over Winnipeg
      Toronto over Montreal (lol)

      Pittsburgh over Ottawa
      Boston over Toronto

      Pittsburgh over Boston

Chicago over Edmonton (or any 8th seed)
      Anaheim over San Jose
      Minnesota over Detroit
Los Angeles over Vancouver (just so goalie story keeps going)

      Chicago over Los Angeles
      Minnesota over Anaheim

      Chicago over Minnesota

      Pittsburgh over Chicago

I really do think this year that Pittsburgh and Chicago in this short season are miles above the rest of the league. Two young teams whose players are basically right now in 'mid-season form' heading into the playoffs. I don't normally like doing #1 vs #1 but in this case, I think it is the year. And if anyone calls me a homer on this, just give your head a shake, since I'm sure the vast majority will at least have the Penguins in the finals.

        East:

        1. Pittsburgh - No one must have taken the Crosby injury news harder than Chris Kunitz.
        2. Boston - Bergeron's concussion might derail the division race.
        3. Winnipeg - Doing their best to hand this spot to the Caps or Canes, but they're still hanging on.
        4. Montreal - CBC/TSN executives would kill for a Montreal-Toronto series.
        5. Ottawa - Cory Conacher is exactly what they need, as no playoff team should have Mike Hoffman on the 1st line.
        6. Toronto - Dodged a bullet when Kipper rejected them.
        7. New York Rangers - Can't wait for Ryane Clowe to pot 8 goals over the last ~15 games to get 6 years and 36 million this offseason.
        8. New Jersey - Sorry, Islanders.

        West:

        1. Chicago - We deserve to see a Pens-Hawks SCF.
        2. Anaheim - If you play Dallas enough, you can avoid regression.
        3. Vancouver - Keeping Luongo will help in the playoffs.
        4. Los Angeles - Easily the best team in the division, even if they don't catch Anaheim.
        5. San Jose - Addition by subtraction at the deadline, unless Scott Hannan gets minutes.
        6. Minnesota - Parise-Koivu-Pominville is a great top line.
        7. St. Louis - They were a top 5 team in the league before the deadline deals. This year's Kings?
        8. Detroit - The West is miles better than the East this year.

        Pittsburgh over New Jersey
        New York over Boston
        Toronto over Winnipeg
        Montreal over Ottawa

        Chicago over Detroit
        St. Louis over Anaheim
        Vancouver over Minnesota
        Los Angeles over San Jose

        Pittsburgh over New York
        Montreal over Toronto

        Chicago over St. Louis
        Los Angeles over Vancouver

        Pittsburgh over Montreal

        Los Angeles over Chicago

        Pittsburgh over Los Angeles

I don't know how the season is gonna play out, but lol at the NYR pickups.

Bring in 3 players, first game they account for 4G (2 PPG), 4A, about 15 SOG and Brassard goes 11-4 in the faceoff dot....vs the league's premier team.

Washington seems to be getting hot at the right time- everyone else in that division has been on the downswing recently as well. I am not all that happy giving up one of our top prospects in Forsberg for just Martin Erat, I think that is desperation talking from the front office. I need to start paying more attention.
