    Unaired British Bulldogs angle

Relatively tame by modern standards, Ed Whalen thought this was too violent and refused to allow it to air. Whalen was the voice of Stampede but also controlled the TV station. He nixed many angles over the years that he deemed to be too violent.

I'm guessing this was around 1988 or 1989 during the short lived Stampede resurrection when Stu Hart realized Vince was never going to give him his money. bigpapa can fill in the gaps if i'm wrong, he probably knows more about this era than I do. Johnny Smith would end up teaming with Dynamite in Japan shortly after this.

Special appearance from Benoit there. This for some reason reminds me of the Daniel Bryan "incident" where he choked Justin Roberts with his tie. Anyways i don't know if they have more incite on this, but a Dynamite Kid dvd came out not to long ago at http://www.highspots.com/p/dynamite-kid-doc.html. Maybe something for the BBD fans.

Can't add much to it, W2B. I vaguely remember that the Bulldogs broke up but would have a tough time placing when. If it happened in the later 80s, Stampede wasn't on TV as much then.

the buyout by Vince only kept them from running shows for about a year. They were bought in '84 and started running shows again in '85 (thanks Wiki) so they lasted a good 4-5 years after the buyout. The talent dropped and so did the profile near the end.

What basement was that shot in? That was as violent as Scott Hall throwing himself into a garage door.

Welcome to the epic production quality of Stampede Wrestling...

They never even quite hit the production quality of something like Mid Atlantic in the early early 80s.

Really wish the E would release more Stampede footage, but that aspect would be pretty painful at times.

Some classic footage right there. The production quality is certainly less than what we have become accustomed to over the years...

This footage has the Bulldogs with a roided up version of Don Muraco.

Muraco's body changed after '87, and he was still in the WWE for most of '88, but was gone by '89. So this had to be late '88 the earliest, maybe '89. So that breakup angle was probably shortly after.
