Cheap by what standard? Its similar to what Real Madrid paid for Robinho, more than what Milan paid for Pato or Chelsea for Oscar. Its not as much he could be worth, all things considered, but he carries the same as any Brazilian still playing in Brazil, plus Barcelona did what Barcelona does and managed to take the leverage away from Santos to a large degree. I'd say the Brazilian club did pretty well.Comment

I've only watched like two Santos games and a bit of Brazil and I've never come away thinking he'll blow the doors off European football.Comment

I've only seen him play a handful of times, he was pretty good at the Olympics but I would guess most of his hype comes from the media circus and the celebrity he's created in Brazil. Still, Barca do need another option in attack so it makes sense if they get him, as long as they don't ignore the problems at centerback for a fifth consecutive year.Originally posted by mgoblue2290If you want to win, put Drew in.Comment

I won't be surprised if he excels, nor if he bombs. I've seen enough of him to realize there is genuine quality there. He has scored at every level - Brazilerao, Paulisa, Copa Libertadores, Club World Cup, and the Brazil national team. And he has scored some amazing goals. When I have seen him play for Santos, he seems to be the creative fulcrum for the side as well. Yet there is such a history of hyped Brazilians faltering in Europe that its no sure thing.Comment

Galera! 'm Here reunited with friends and family and they have helped me to write a few things here ... It's not going to hold out until Monday ... My family and friends already know my decision. Monday sign a contract with Barcelona. I want to thank the fans of Santos by these incredible nine years. My feeling for the club and the fans will never change. It is eternal! Only a club like Santos FC could give me everything I have lived on and off the field. I thank the wonderful fans who supported me fish even in the most difficult moments. Titles, goals, dribbling, celebrations and songs that fans created for me will be forever in my heart ... I made sure to play the match tomorrow in Brasilia. I want to have the opportunity to once again take the field with the "mantle" and hear the crowd scream my name ... as the hymn says, "it is an honor that not everyone can have ..." It is a different time for me, sad (farewell) and cheerful (new challenge). May God bless me in my choices ... And I'm always in Santos! # Toiss
