Avs are expected to take Nathan MacKinnon with the first pick, skipping over Seth Jones. There need in my mind is on defence, and skipping Jones is a huge shock, but a number one centre like MacKinnon is huge.

Penguins get the second round pick from the San Jose Sharks (50th overall) for Tyler Kennedy.

Victim of the cap issues in Pittsburgh. Good scappy played, and one of the last of that big Staal third line.

I would have much rather read, Sharks trade Marleau + 1st to Penguins for Letang.

2011 Gabriel Landeskog (3rd)
2013 Nathan MacKinnon (1st)

Monster power play on the way for this team, and now the Avs have a legit 1-2 centre, with Duchene and MacKinnon.

Can't believe the Panthers just passed up on Seth Jones. Lots of head scratching here. Tampa getting a free pick with Jones, unless they go Drouin, and then Cannes get their dman.

Forced the forward pick...they can't score.

Jones is supposedly really good though...but, the teams at the top seemingly don't have Jones at the top...I mean, the Avs supposedly had Jones much further down the list than #2...Florida, I guess, had Barkov ahead of him, too.

Tampa probably takes Drouin, too.

See, there you go, Tampa takes Drouin. I guess the scouts and the GMs just thought players were better than Jones. A universal high pick but they just had guys they like a little higher.

Jones goes from first to fourth. He is this years Adam Larrson. Drouin with Stamkos is just going to be fun to watch.

Nashville Predators select Seth Jones from Portland Winterhawks.


Yeah, I'm doing this in advance, because there isn't a chance they pass him up. With the history the Preds have with drafting defence, he will be a big player. Great they also have Weber signed long term to mentor this guy.
