    Coyotes land Ribeiro

The Phoenix Coyotes have signed unrestricted free agent forward Mike Ribeiro.

The 34-year-old Montreal native spent last season with the Washington Capitals. Ribeiro finished second on the team in scoring with 49 points including 13 goals and 36 assists.

For his career, Ribeiro has appeared in 785 NHL games, tallying 186 goals and 609 points. The 13-year veteran Ribeiro was originally drafted 45th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1998.

The Ribeiro signing was one of many for the Coyotes on Friday.

The club locked up restricted free-agent winger Lauri Korpikoski to a four-year, $10 million deal. The Coyotes also added a pair of veteran unrestricted free agents, signing goaltender Thomas Greiss and re-signing forward Kyle Chipchura to one-year deals.

The 26-year old Korpikoski had six goals and five assists in 36 games last season.

In 46 games last season, Chipchura scored five goals and had nine assists.

Greiss, 27, appeared in six games with the San Jose Sharks last season, posting a 1-4-0 record with a 2.53 GAA.

Tough loss for the Caps, and I'm still unsure why we didn't want him back, especially considering the interest showed in Lecavalier.
