Clowe to the Devils $4.85m/5 years

I liked Clowe, he made us more physical and his 2 goal debut was one of the highlights of the season. But I sure am glad the Rangers ducked out of this one. Clowe is only 30 but he's made a living hitting and being hit and his best years a way behind him. I'd be worried about his recent injuries including a concussion going forward. I wouldn't have been happy if we'd given him $4.85m for 3 years to be honest. I think the Devils have paid him too much and for too long.

This also means the Rangers avoid sending the Sharks another 2nd round pick, just a 5th in this case. All in all, considering what the Rangers gave up and what Clowe got in free agency, the Sharks won that trade big time.

Devils made a huge mistake. Clowe is not a 5M player. Even in his "prime" he wasn't worth that value.
