It was a really good card. I was a little surprised. I had heard good things, but I didn't expect it to be THAT good. I'm familiar with The Bucks, ACH, and a little bit of Gargano (who is tremendous btw, I know I'm way late to the party on that one), but the rest of the guys on the card weren't as bad as I expected. The Hooligans were damn good, Elgin/Jojo was good, the main event was entertaining. $1 beers didn't hurt either. Just a really fun show. Definitely going back.

Vega and Gary J are right on the cusp of breaking out. keep an eye on Shire. that roster is very good, running once every 2 months is worth it

Vega was quite over with the crowd. And I remember the name Gary Jay from the podcast, I think. He was solid.

Hate I wasn't able to make it this month. Looks like another solid event!

Went to DEATHPROOF at my favourite dive bar for wrestling shows last night.. shit was way too long but it was a blast. Show went so long that I had to tell my date to meet me there for the main event before we went out.. LOL.. she was absolutely mortified. Infact, the facial reactions from everyone who brought their girl to the event were priceless. There was a chick in the front row that was nearly in tears it seemed. A dude put a chick through a barbed wire table onto the tiled floor.. shit was brutal. Not a huge fan of these man vs woman matches, but they seem to be a regular thing with Deathproof. Going again in September.

                  The Independent Wrestling Thread

The ongoing Sammy Guevara/RCW feud took another nasty turn this weekend as Sammy chose to join a facebook group that had been created to celebrate the memory of ring announcer Jonathan Velma (who passed away due to complications from a stroke last week) and take a swipe at his former employer.

I get that people can have beefs with other wrestlers or promotions but this just seems completely classless on behalf of Sammy

My first instinct is always work, it would be brilliant if the family of the dead guy was in on the facebook post because that puts it over big time.

Sammy G is still doing the loose cannon bit in Inspire, he KO'd Biss on the last show.

If it isn't a work, and i'm not convinced it isn't, he's got some growing up to do. He's still a kid, I think we all did dumb shit when we were 19, and most of us didn't have social media to make it worse. Maybe he needs his ass kicked, idk.

Apparently it is true, posted to the Inspire website a few moments ago-

As of August 11th 2014, Sammy Guevara is no longer employed with Inspire Pro Wrestling. The future of the Inspire Pro J-Crown will be decided in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out on social media and InspireProWrestling.com for updates.

MCU Park is expecting between 1400-1600 people for ROH Friday with nearly half the tickets sold THIS WEEK. Expect there to be a ton of walk-up buyers, on the bright side the weather should be great.

One of WAR MACHINE broke his arm in a motorcycle accident and is out of action.

                                From ROH's site

We have just received word that current ROH star, one half of the tag team War Machine, RAYMOND ROWE was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. His injuries include severe bruising, lacerations. He also sustained a broken arm that will require surgery and rehabilitation. We at Rowe's ROH family - wrestlers and fans - are incredibly grateful he will make a full recovery.
