I will say that the way Dana treated GSP in that presser was disgraceful, attacking him for wanting some time off, and pressuring him into an immediate rematch by saying he "owes" it to UFC & the fans.
If anybody has earned the right to take some time off to clear his head and decide his next move, it's GSP. He's not the one who scored the fight. Dana is just the worst sometimes.Comment

You could be right, but there definitely will be one now, and controversy equals cash.

As good as GSP has been to the UFC, I think this is probably the first situation where he didn't handle things professionally. Whatever he's going through obviously didn't come up all of a sudden, so the right thing to do would be to talk to Dana privately and explain his situation in advance. Not make this announcement after a fight to everyone's surprise. At the end of the day he's still a vital employee, who can show up to work and just announce that today is their last day (with no explanation) and they'll be gone for a year or however long. You sit down with your boss and discuss what's going on first and GSP didn't do that.
Dana comes off harsh, but in terms of pure principle, he was in the right.
Understandably GSP doesn't realize it yet, but he does owe an immediate rematch to the UFC and the fans, that title is tainted until then.Comment

Georges St-Pierre sister, Myriam, dispels rumor that their father is sick and among reasons UFC Welterweight champion decided to walk away from MMA, revealing that he is "very well." She did not comment, however, on unplanned pregnancy possibility.
bad rumor, I'm guess him having a kid on the way is true thoughComment

Joe Rogan calling for GSP to retire:
UFC color commentator Joe Rogan wants Georges St. Pierre to retire from mixed martial arts (MMA) following his UFC 167 title fight against Johny Hendricks on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas, citing potential brain damage, memory loss and alien abductions.
Sounds like he's suffering from some serious brain injuries.Comment

Thinking those black outs are the result of an Alien Abduction though...
That is scary.Comment

I think he needs to pack it in. Fuck the macho bullshit, I hope he doesn't get wrapped up in that and does the right thing for his long term health. Sucks if we don't see the rematch, but we'll live.Comment

Go out as the champion, Georges.. fuck what Dana White wants. If you're financially set theres no reason to continue doing this shit.Comment

Somebody asked Meltzer about being the only media guy at the show who scored it for GSP:
Actually, tons of media have gone on twitter and said they scored it for GSP. Both Vegas papers, LA Times, Greg Savage from Sherdog, Gareth Davies, Florian, Chael, Karyn Bryant (latter three being UFC's own guys from FS 1) all off the top of my head but there were tons of others. Where I was sitting, the only person who didn't have it even going into round 5 was Dave Doyle, who had it 3-1 for Hendricks giving him round one.Comment
