    St. Louis to the Rangers

The New York Rangers have acquired six-time All-Star Martin St. Louis from the Tampa Bay Lightning for captain Ryan Callahan and a pair of draft picks.

The New York Rangers have acquired Martin St. Louis from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Ryan Callahan and a pair of draft picks, a source confirmed to ESPN.

The Lightning also received a first-round draft selection in 2015 and a second-round pick in 2014, the source said.

St. Louis reportedly asked out of Tampa Bay after he was initially snubbed by general manager Steve Yzerman -- also the GM of Team Canada -- when his boss named the 2014 Olympic squad.

Callahan had been seeking a long-term contract from the Rangers.
Not sure how I feel about it. Callahan played with a ton of heart and grit and led the team but just doesn't produce enough and his style of play leads to injuries. He just isn't worth $6.5M per year for 6 years. Now he's gone and we bring in a goal scorer who is 38.

Lots of picks though, that's the one thing I don't like from the Rangers' end. Though there is the possibility they may end up bringing him back as a free agent this off-season.

Back to the picks, it's also not like St. Louis could be sticking around New York, as he's a FA as well. Seems to be a swap of the two players, and the conditional pick would have been enough.
