City not at their best but dispatched Southampton without too much trouble. The 2 goals at the end of the first half killed the game and City were much better in the second half, Nasri's goal was offside and definately hurt but I don't think the Saints can have too much to complain about, for all their dominace in the first half they never really troubled Hart. Pochettino was pissed though also what looks to be a season ending injury for Jay Rodriguez that will rule him out of the WC I would think. City close the gap to 1 point, pressure is now on Chelsea who can go top again later and us tomorrow to get the 3 points.

Southampton got done over. Terrible call on the offside goal, which I think probably sunk them... still Citeh put in a good show. Chelsea did the business, we've got to do ours against West Ham today.

Special shout out to Bill Kenwright. Hey dude, shut the fuck up. My god does he have an inferiority complex or what? I love when he says shit like Everton are the people's club. Anyone who has ever spent 5 minutes in Liverpool would know how laughable that statement is. Also got a good laugh out of Roberto Martinez this morning who said Barry was the best English defensive mid. Now that Stevie is playing defensive mid, Barry isn't even the best DFM in the city of Liverpool.

Is anyone tracking Baines? Fuck he's had all day on the ball and has been able to get in all kinds of attacking space.

It keeps getting said over and over, but without Walcott you have to wonder where the pace comes from for Arsenal. They're so static and slow.

Edit- The match is perfectly set up for Arsenal to counter attack but everytime Everton pushes forward and Arsenal regain possession, Arsenal essentially walk the ball up the pitch and allow Everton to get set up time and time again. They're allowing Everton to push them and drag them out of position and then allowing them retain their defensive shape.

Looks like Ox might come on, he's just about the only one capable of pushing the pace of the game and putting Everton in trouble.

Everton scores their third and it's over.

That summed the match up perfectly. Arsenal lose the ball and Everton push the ball up with speed while the rest of the Arsenal team are just jogging back into position. Fucking shambolic from Arsenal. I remember when Arsenal were fucking bossing teams left and right, to see them looking this lazy is embarrassing. This is a Europa club these days, not a Champions League club.

They've been really poor since February, just a complete lack of desire from them today. I really hope they choke away 4th to Everton.

Sakho comes in for Agger today

I can see the reasoning behind it from Rodgers but don't really think Danny's done anything to warrant being dropped or that it's necessary to bring someone in to cope with Carroll.

I can see why we'd bring in Sakho, he does provide a bit of a bigger presence in the air than Agger. Considering the balls are going to be flying in from long, wide... fucking everywhere, we could use Sakho's presence in there. Honestly though, Rodgers has been so spot on with his squad selections lately that I trust he knows what he's doing.

Agger out due to knee injury according to Rodgers.

Flanno has been great for us this season, but it's pretty obvious Fat Sam knew what he was doing by playing Diame out wide against him. Diame is pushing Flanno all over the place, he just doesn't have the size or power to compete.

Clear foul by Carroll on the keeper. Even Gary fucking Neville knows it was a clear foul.

                          Andy Carroll is the #worst.

The Hammers are getting all the pressure early though. A lot of broken counter attack opportunities for the reds before that long pass went through.

Was always gonna be a tricky fixture, some of the reffing was ridiculous but we got the three points and that's all that matters. 9 in a row, 5 to go, bring on City next Sunday
