Sorry about the delay, was on a week long vacation and couldn't really be bothered to write out a long response on my phone.
I don't really have anything to compare my Fire to since I've never had an e-reader or tablet before, but I do quite like it. All I really use it for so far is reading, haven't even messed with any of the apps, games or videos yet.
The screen is really nice IMO with its sensitivity and is sufficiently responsive. You also can't go wrong with it since it's an Amazon product and they have just about anything you could ever need to purchase for it as far as books/apps/etc. go. I also really enjoy the cloud save feature, makes you feel like your Kindle isn't that cluttered when you have a ton of stuff DLed.
Of course its gonna fall short of the iPad or whatever in a lot of areas, such as GPS, 3G, camera, quad core processor and 4GB of RAM, but for the price and what it does, I don't think you can go wrong.
