Or maybe it was that offensive line they had and have spent numerous 1st round draft picks on, as well as big money..I highly doubt many teams were "scared" of Favre down the stretch. Would he improve the Vikings QB position? Of course..Would the Vikings be a better team? I dunno..I'm sure old man river would find a way to screwup down the stretch just like he has for the past 10 years.

So going from Chad "Look ma, I can toss the pigskin 5 yards" Pennington to Brett Favre doesn't help your running game? When you have a receiver who can stretch the field and a quarterback who can actually get him the ball, it helps a lot.

About the Minny situation, Favre would be playing 8 games a year at the Metrodome where it seems like he's never had a bad game. He'd get a lot of pressure taken off of him by AP also. Favre could easily put up a very good season and lead that team to a 12-13 win season.

While "every game being the most important" is somewhat true that doesnt change the fact that big time players are supposed to show up in big time games

When Indy was on the verge of falling out of contention Peyton led us to wins over SD and NE and Pitt

In the SD game he threw a hughe 4th down throw to Marvin Harrison which took us into fg range

Peyton also led a injury riddled team that had 3 rookie olinemen starting at one point to the playoffs after starting off horribly . Thats not even mentioning his own knee injury at the start in which he couldnt even hand of a simple stretch play because of the pain.

I think Ed Reed was the best defensive player in the league last season , if we wana talk about teams game-planning away from Ware then you must mention how every qb in the NFL is scared to even look in Ed Reed`s direction .

Are you seriously going to say that Peyton didnt accomplish much last year? Because i dont think another qb in the NFL barring Tom Brady could have done what he did and still took his team to the playoffs

Lol Ed Reed plays Centerfield so of course QB's would be scared to look his way if they want to throw down field. Plus he's fast enough to go sideline to sideline...

However, Ware's ability allowed other people on Dallas Defense to shine, especially ig the TE and/or Guards and tackle has to double team him.

I'd say Pennington did a much better job than Brett Favre did last year. Better completion %, 15 less picks, only 3 less touchdowns, and a better pass rating. Oh yeah and his team won more games.

No one's questioning whether or not Pennington did better than Favre. I was saying that Favre's ability to thrown down field (opposed to Pennington's lack of ability) opened up the running game for Thomas Jones.

I wouldnt really say Favre is the reason why Jones did good, I mean he has rushed for over 1000 yards in the last 4 seasons

I'm sure Peterson will have a great year, he's a great player.

But I think he gets injured and misses 2 to 3 games, or just doesn't have significant playing time in them, and still has an awesome year.

Max yardage I give the kid is 1,800....

Maybe, just MAYBE 1,900, don't count on it though.
