I said when it happened that Dez got greedy by reaching for the goal line rather than pulling the ball into his body. The ground can't cause a fumble but it can cause an incomplete pass. We've all seen calls made using that logic and it's no different here.

In THIS game there was nothing in the realm of reality where that catch isn't a catch. Posession , control , 3 fucking steps , and he goes forward. 100/100 that's called a TD by competent refs. The fact they rule it a catch on the field THEN overturned ?? That's insane. It's THE biggest robbery since Oak got hosed.
Unfortunately it involved the Cowboys so all the dimwitted casuals will be unable to be objective. I'm getting sick of pausing after every play to be sure the shitty part timers didn't fuck up a call.

Only when posession and catch completion is still undecided. Dez has posession moved the ball himself and took 3 steps. That's no longer part of the process it's posession. The "gray" area described on the overturn was that his move forward was finishing part of the catch and not a football move. That's some retarded shit.

The play was called "correctly". The problem is the rule is inconsistent. If you're at the sidelines & get 3 feet in w/control, its a catch. If you control the ball for 3 steps & a tackler knocks it out, it's a catch a fumble. If you take 3 steps with control in the end zone & a defender knocks it loose, its a TD.

The only time you can control the ball, take 3 steps & it not be a catch is if you are falling to the ground. That's moronic & inconsistent. An obvious stupid loophole that the NFL "geniuses" have neglected to close up.

ANd Mr Bill, you're wrong about Bryant being "greedy". If Bryant did lunge for the end zone w/the ball, that would have been considered a "football" move & it would have been ruled a catch. He wasn't stretching for the extra yard. He was falling to the turf. That's why it was overturned.
