[360] #5 Bites the Dust

Looks like I'll be sending it yet another 360 in for repair.

At least the process of requesting a repair online is painless now and I kept the box from the last repair.

What a quality console.

I would buy a slim too but I refuse to give MS any more of my money after the debacle that has been the 360. Plus there is no guarantee that the new console is that much more reliable. There are plenty of reports, YouTube videos, etc that show it is plenty faulty. And because it no longer red rings, it just gives you a different error, they won't cover the warranty for more than a year.

I have been playing on my friend's Halo Reach 360 and there have been no problems.

Hate to hear that Twigg. I have to wonder if the cost of spending billions by Microsoft to repair shoddily designed Xbox 360's is more than had they just spent the extra money in engineering a better console in the first place.

I've had mine since Summer 2007 and it died once over 2 years ago, sometimes it takes a while to read the game disks but other than that I've had no problems.

Jeez dude, your luck sucks. I got one in 2006, it died after a year, I got one of those falcon chip ones (which I don't even know if there is actually a difference) and it has been fine since. Never had a single issue.

That's what chip set this one was. I checked before boxing it up. Xenon, Jasper, Falcon. It doesn't seem to make a difference.

It's funny how quick it hits too. I've been palying both my PS3 and 360 pretty equally as of late. I had been playing through Bioshock 2 (and of course I'm on the last level when it breaks!) and played a hit of Burnout Paradise the other day. No issues. Then I turn it on today and watch a few Crackdown 2 videos I had downloaded a while ago. No problems. I leave it on the dashboard and go upstairs to get my wife because I wanted to finish Bioshock. When we get downstairs she says "Why is your screen all screwed up?" The screen was all distorted like an old NES game with dust in it back in the day. I knew I was screwed because the same thing happened a while back while playing RE5. I turned it off and back on again. Started up Bioshock and about a minute in the screen just went black. Off and on again and RROD.

Nothing but bad luck with Xbox. 2 broken and last one (elite) stolen. I guess I should thank whoever did that.
