How is spending multiple dollars on the same product in such a short time so "great"?

I bought the first one off ebay for 246$ and that lasted 3 years. I sent it in for free repair and got a "new" one. So 246 bucks in 4 years with a console that has a high fail rate is pretty great to me.

I went through 2 or 3 playstations back in the day so I'd say I'm still on the same pace.

ive had 3 360s in the past 5 years only paid for 2

I'm on my 2nd one in 3 years, which is also beginning to go. Both have had the same problem. Won't read disks.

I should've taken advantage of that deal Gamestop had for Slim pre-orders. I was worried about having to transfer my files and also my current one seemed like it was going to be around for the long haul. I should've known better.

That may be true, although I would be highly doubtful. So many people are completely clueless about the warranty policy and just buy a new one when theirs breaks. Then of course there are tons of people that send them in for a repair, buy a new one and then either sell the broken one when it comes back or keep it as a "back up". LOL. As for how many most people have went through, that's a completely different story. I know EVERY one of my actual friends and family members that own one are on at least their third. Yes I know the people close to me don't constitute the general population but it would seem far fetched to think that every one I know is outside of the norm.

I only had to send mine in once. I think it was because i played GTA IV for about 16 hours straight. I was so scared.

i've never had any problems. *knocks on wood table* first one i had was a launch arcade system, had that until 2 years ago and got an elite, still using that one, no issues with either

i went through three PS3's since it released... i bought a 360 slim on its release and its going strong... just bad luck...

See your just trying to throw your own spin on things to justify you having problems.

these kind of threads are nothing new and no longer surprise anyone. The failure rates are only improved today because all of the shit units made for the first 3-4 years are now phasing out. The new units with the newer gpu dont have the failure issue like those ginnie pig units that screwed everyone

i am on #4 myself. first lasted 4 hrs, 2nd lasted about 2 years and then was repaired and sent back to me as my 3rd one. then that one finally died after 3 total years of use. this new one I have is an elite with the new gpu and i got it back in feb 2010.

i always say that if it dies then that will be it. But for gaming, i love the console so much more so it would be hard to not own one

Only their second? You shouldn't have to send in your console that you spent your hard earned money for to get another one. This is one thing that plagued the Xbox and forever will.

Sold on craigslist for $75
Bought new 120gb ps3 last year $330


If my math is correct ive spent $915 on two ps3s, suck it up twigg


I dont regret it either as ive enjoyed it thoroughly.
