the colts lost because they suck on defense and luck threw crucial ints. its that simple. the refs had nothign to do with the loss

The Colts lost legit - they simply couldn't stop the run. Giving up 40+ points vs. Chiefs is one thing, giving up 40+ vs. a Belichick-coached team is another.

You insinuate too much. I didn't say the Saints lost because of holding, at least not any more than anyone else who loses to the Seahawks because they are holding on most defensive plays. I did really appreciate the irony of a critical offensive PI going in favour of the Seahawks however; I had to comment on that.

Did you watch this game by the way? Or perhaps you weren't wearing your spectacles? Officiating was clearly incoherent. Call a 50-50 PI here, let it go there. Rough a quarterback not named Brady here, trip tackle a quarterback not named Brady there, all within the rules.

No, what made life difficult for the Colts was giving up 234 yards rushing and throwing three interceptions before it was out of reach. Both teams had 4 penalties -- the whistles get swallowed in the playoffs and talent wins out, not flags. The better team won today without any help.

But you're right, I think on a few plays I saw the refs holding the Colts' defenders preventing them from tackling.

NFL will get their dream match up. Broncos minus however many points it takes next weekend.

Reffing has been pretty solid....until today's Pats Colts game. Pats didn't *need* it but lulz at thinking whistles were put away or it was 50/50. That was very one sided play calling.

The 8 penalties were:

(3) illegal blocks by the Patriots on the punt return
(1) false start
(1) personal foul taken on kickoff
(1) offsides taken on kickoff
(1) Illegal contact on Gregory
(1) Pass interference against the Colts

Each team had one penalty on the secondary. Keep going on about how they didn't swallow whistles and how they were completely biased towards the Patriots. The only obvious call that isn't so obvious during the game was the trip on Luck. But people like to assume the Colts, who had 5 scoring drives in 14 drives, would easily have marched from their own 35.

The Patriots were given shit field position all game with the illegal blocks, but made the best of it. Colts needed to step up. They got blasted where the game mattered most (trenches and turnovers).
