Again, biased news. The Redskins officially came out that they were going to the 3-4 around the combine, so early March roughly. They signed Kemo March 10th, who was obviously going to be a NT. Haynesworth holdout started in... June.
Haynesworth was never going to be the NT, so him slimming down to 320 or so isn't that big of a problem. The bigger problem is asking a guy who loves to try and make plays to just occupy blockers. The Lions got rid of Rogers for that reason and the Browns are trying to control Rogers in the same way, but it just doesn't happen. How are you going to tell a guy who just tackled a guy for a 2 yard loss that he technically was playing wrong?

Haynesworth lives 15 minutes down the road from me. My good friend who I graduated highschool with is the son of Danny Smith. The whole team hates Haynesworth. What was said in interviews on TV is the extreme watered down of what was actually being said in the locker room. He's a shitty human being, a shitty player, and a shitty teammate. Motherfucker never admitted he was wrong in anything. I mean shit, the guy has 4 or 5 lawsuits pending from all his 'baby mammas'. Haynesworth hates the DC area, and the DC area hates him. The media broadcasted that the holdout was because he wanted to play in a 4-3, which is partly true, but Haynesworth wants out of DC and still does. The only reason he is in training camp is because the skins were about to start fining him.
In regards to the "he was always going to player DE," again, no he was not. The skins got him to take up space in the middle, something they had been lacking any consistency at. The players found out about the defensive plans in late January when Shanahan hired Haslett. Haynesworth was told his role then, and immediately began to pout (according to Mr. Smith). Mr. Smith compared him to a 5 year old who was just told by his parents that he couldn't get cotton candy at a carnival. He would just do anything to annoy the coaches, but not enough to warrant them punishing him. After he went public with his displeasure is when the coaches finally just said fuck it, you can have the DE spot.
I fucking hate the guy from the shit I've heard. He's a complete piece of shit, hopefully he loses his lawsuits and his money with it because that's the only thing he's ever cared about.
