ALCS: Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees

Uh oh, ya'll, we got ourselves a good one. These organizations are polar opposites. The Yankees are the most decorated baseball franchise of all-time, while the Rangers just won their very first playoff series ever.

Cliff Lee is a stud, more than capable of neutralizing Sabathia. From there it's a crapshoot IMO. Both staffs are questionable beyond the top dog, and both lineups can absolutely rake. With mashers like Ian Kinsler, Josh Hamilton and Nellie Cruz, Texas is very much a threat to the Bronx Bombers, IMO.

I'll be pulling for Texas, because why not right? Plus, Vladdy Guerrero is my all-time favorite non-Braves player.

My head, however, tells me that the Yanks win in 7. Their experience gets them over.

Should be a great series. Will all come down to pitching. Whose staff can be effective. Once the series goes back to NY, I'm wondering if the home runs will fly.

I think we win in six, with Cliff Lee winning two games out of the series....we don't have much success against him, but who does? So glad the Rays extended the series and they had to use him last night....we need to win these first two games.....can't fuck around coming into Lee's start at 1-1 or even worse down 0-2

As for the Phillies.....that rotation scares me far more than last year's edition....FAR MORE

In other news, I think the Yankees win this in 6. IMO the shakiness of the rangers staff outside of Lee outweighs the shakiness of the Yankees staff outside of Sabathia. History tells me that you should almost never pick against the Yankees too, this year should be no different.

Lee tears off his Rangers uniform to reveal pinstripes, pulls a contract out of his back pocket and signs it right on the mound.

All the while Joe Buck is screaming "NOOO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! THIS ISN'T RIGHT!" from the pressbox.

John Sterling jerks off in the adjacent radio booth.

Mo gets a two inning save.

Holy shit...I stopped watching the game at the end of the 7th and what do I find the next morning? A complete meltdown on the part of the Rangers. I agree with you, this is a crushing loss that will likely cost them the series. I had Yankees in 7, but I think now I'd go Yanks in 5 with Lee getting the only win for the Rangers.

The Yankees still would've won the series eventually. Last night shouldn't surprise anyone. All year the Yankees pulled 3 and 4 run innings out of the sky. They are mashers in the late innings. The Rangers weren't going to win this series anyway, last night's defeat might just expedite the process is all.
