Eh, I mean, I love Lee and want to seem them get to the postseason, but I don't know if I can be too bitter about them trading Lee. Their starting pitching hasn't been what's been killing them. And if they had Lee they'd be dropping Oswalt, and Oswalt's been fantastic since he came to the Phils. So it's a wash in my opinion.

Definitely a wash since Philly picked up a great pitcher at the deadline. But for karmic reasons, it'd be cool to see Lee make the WS after getting shipped out of Philly in the pre-season to the dregs of Seattle.

With the Yankees, it's more of a "one small victory for competitive equality" type of thing. That the Rangers were able to steal Lee away from the big, bad Yanks at the deadline is a thing of beauty. That that same pitcher might beat them twice in the ALCS is just icing on the cake. Of course, this will all be moot in February when Lee is holding up his pinstriped jersey at his introductory press conference.

I don't think anyone thought that Seattle would be as bad as it turned out to be. They have King Felix and their rotation was pretty decent last year, they added a couple bats but they weren't good enough and the injuries and the drama just screwed them up.

I, for one, did. Didn't take a baseball genius to predict a bad year for team which got 30 combined HRs from its outfield the year before and entered the season with Casey Kotchmann (career high of 13 homers) and Jose Lopez (career OBP of .297) as the corner infielders. That team was doomed to fail from the start.

Yeah it would've made zero sense for Cashman to literally sell the farm for Lee when he was going to be a free agent this winter

The Mariners came out and said they liked Smoak more then Montero.

Plus, the whole divisional thing doesn't matter since Texas were bankrupt at the time and had no way of holding him past this season and Seattle were already dead in the water.

I even remember people questioning why the Rangers were giving up a young potential star at first base plus two young arms for a half season rental that probably wouldn't be enough to get them deep into the playoffs.

I didn't like the Johnson signing but Damon wanted too much money and it ended up being his fault, the yanks would of gave him what he ended up getting. Not sure about Matsui, i think they where worried about his knees.

kinda had a feeling this would happen in game 6. like always the Yankees got all the hype after their game 5 performance. i had a feeling that the Rangers would come out and shut them down.

but still, i gotta root for the Rangers in the WS. you always want the team that knocks you out to win it all, that way at least you lost to the best.
