so how is this game? are u guys all on the 360? I tried playing on the pc but it was super buggy...how are the bugs on the 360?

is it too late to join the F1 League?

I haven't seen any bugs myself. I've heard of 1 or 2, but they aren't game breaking. And yes, all of us are on the 360. As for the league, we still have 2 open spots and we're only 1 race in to the season.

Teams still open: Mercedes, Williams, Caterham, Marussia and HRT

i loved this game back on ps2. im seriously thinking about getting it again. its says its got a steep learning curve and i see people claiming its just too hard. Do u think that is because they dont know the tracks or do the cars just feel so sim that they cant figure it out? when i played on ps2 it was pretty sim like forza is today.

how hard can it be? gas, break, shift up shift, down, turn left and right...idk what the KERS and DRS stuff is all about...is that in the real F1 cars?

the PC bugs were bad. they had 5 patches and the 5th was so messed up that steam pulled it. i couldnt get my car out of the garage to do the driving test. there was no sound on the track in quick race mode. and if you paused, then unpaused during a race, your car would drive away while the camera stayed on the track where u paused. lol

how hard can it be? lol. being precise, for 30+ laps, isn't that easy. that stuff is like a nitro boost that can be used at certain points in the race, and yes it's real.

We play with many assists on too.

Yes to available, nope to that turd Villeneuve driving for them.

As for the previous post, it's pretty sim. It's been said to be the most sim game on the consoles. I think that most of the problems people have is that they think they can drive these cars like regular sports cars, which is definitely not the case. The only assists I don't allow in the league are braking assist and ABS. KERS is a battery inside the car that gives you boost. You get a certain amount of it during each lap and it's mostly used coming out of slow corner and/or overtaking. DRS is a system on your rear wing that will give you less downforce on a straightaway on the track and can only be used if you're within 1 second of the car in front of you.

The biggest thing is learning how/when to brake and when you can push your car b/c it's so different than other cars.

There are some annoying bugs, mostly to do with tires and weather. For instance: don't use a flashback in rain, or the physics all break down. This is hard since you most often will want to use a flashback in the rain. The transition in weather has unpredictable results in the grip of the tires so you'll never know when to switch from dry to wet. A rainy race is better than a dry one that starts to rain.

Personally, I think the game is much more difficult that 2011 (and any other racing game). These guys make me look stupid.

I was 1 lap down last night (within the first 5 laps) , then my internet went out (assuming it was the 60mph winds)

I can do decent in single player but in multiplayer, something changes. Last night, it was like I was on ice , I might have
loaded the wrong car setting but I don't think that I did.

In time trials, I can get good times but I never do well in MP games (not just racing). Well, Trials Evolution is one exception.


As for bugs, the only one I know of is the one yeti mentioned and I think I posted a video of that in action (one of the Bortz races)

I find 2012 to be different than 2011, but not necessarily tougher. With a wheel, I find these cars much easier to handle than the cars in Forza. It got to a point that I wasn't even competitive on Forza while using my wheel.

i installed the pc version again to try and get a feel for the game and because another patch was released. i do the young drive test and get to the hair pin turn test. after the turn it gives u a tire puncture and has you use flashback and everytime i try to use it the game just freezes on the track and all i can do is use the menu. I have tried 10 times and get the same result everytime. I cant even try the career mode because i cant get past this test.

i can do free runs at least to get a free for the game and see if i want to buy it. I dont think its like overly hard, it just feels chalenging. once i learn the tracks and the brake timing with the lines it should be cool

Only the team. In online play, it doesn't let you pick the specific driver.

Teams have been equaled out for league play (there's option for 2012 or equal).

Nope, only us league members.

ABS and braking assist are not allowed. Anything else is fair game.

Option tires give you more grip, but don't last as long (usually about 10 laps). Prime tires last a lot longer, but don't have the same grip as Options. During dry races, F1 requires you to use at least one set of each during the race.

it really bothers me i cant get this thing going on the pc. its so fucking bugged...its really a killer game. the cpu cars are killing me on the dubai track by at least 10 seconds per lap

The only assist I use is medium traction control.
