I'd take Sandoval too based of a higher OBP and a significantly higher OPS+ to counter his home ballpark.

ill take the 60 points of batting average over all of that, your home run numbers mean nothing when you have the same slugging percentage, especially when you strike out over 200 times a year

sandoval has 23 doubles compared to reynolds' 16, and 3 triples compared to reynolds' 1, has a 2 to 1 k to bb ratio compared to reynolds' 3 to 1 ratio, sandoval also has a higher ops

to say reynolds is having a better season is pretty absurd

Sandoval's AVG with RISP is almost .60 pts higher and his avg with RISP/2 outs is almost .100 pts higher. Although those arent major stats to go by when choosing an all star I think they can be looked

Mark Reynolds is a run producer though. Those extra doubles and triples really havent helped his RBI's. Any which way you put it, one or the other should of been making the backup 3B and the other should get the Final Vote. The votes of Ryan Howard and/or Adrian Gonzalez were jokes saying Reynolds has done better than both of them. Take one or both of them away and your have Sandoval/Reynolds as all stars.

Never use RBIs when trying to argue players on different teams. It becomes a completely worthless stat.

Saying Reynolds doesnt deserve to be an allstar is unfair as well though to. The fact that the Diamonbacks are playing so poorly might make it skeptical to have 3 all stars but he is having a career year and deserves it.
The fact that he will probally put up 40 hrs, 100 rbis, 100 runs, 20 sb and with a possible .270 average that is pretty deserving

C Yadier Molina, STL McCann got robbed for the start and I would rather have seen Bengie as the backup. If you glance at Yadiers stats they dont looks All-star worthy

3B David Wright, NYM He has a high average that goes hand in hand with his high obp. I would rather see atleast Pablo Sandoval or Mark Reynolds here. Wright should not be starting but should atleast be a backup.

3B Ryan Zimmerman, WSHAdam Dunn should of been the only National. Zimmerman is batting under .300 with near the same numbers as Sandoval but with a 30 pts less batting average and only a .20 points ahead of Reynolds despite being 11 hrs and rbis short

OF Hunter Pence, HOUIm pretty positive that Charlie Manuel forgot that Miguel Tejeda is a Astro. Switch him for Matt Kemp

marquis is debatable, when you see he pitches in coors, you have to argue his era could be under 3 or in the very low 3's if he was pitching on a different team

The joke is on you here. Kinsler is hitting .253 compared to Pedroia's .290. That alone is enough to base an argument, but I could always delve a little deeper. Pedroia's OBP is 30 points higher than Kinslers, and they have the same number of walks. The only argue you can make is HR and RBI's..and last time i checked a 1/2 hitter does not drive in a ton of runs or hit a lot of home runs. Not to mention Kinsler is mired in an 0-21 slump/

OF Josh Hamilton, TEX The guy's a hell of a story but he's been hurt almost all year. When he's been healthy he hasn't done shit.

P Andrew Bailey, OAK Shouldn't be in the game but the damn rule about having a player from each team.

What's wrong with Andrew Bailey. He's 4-1 with a 2.00 era in 37 appearances out of the pen. He's got 9 saves and 57 strikeouts, and has clearly been the most effective pitcher in late innings for Oakland. His WHIP is at 1.007, which is very strong, and has only allowed 11 runs all year. He's not the flashy pick, but is having a very good season flying under the radar.

P Brian Fuentes, LAA Yes he's leading the league in saves but look at hes era. (3.38) looks like he's coming in with alot of 2 or 3 run leads.

He's getting the saves in right? His ERA is inflated from a rough start to the season which showed a 5.63 era, but he didn't allow a run all through June. He has 24 saves, and a save is a save no matter how many runs come in.

Lifetime Achievement? Try a 10-3 record with 4.30 era. Not only does he deserve it because he's waited so long, but he played great.

OF Curtis Granderson, DET Batting 256 w/18 homeruns.All star numbers. Fuck Joe Maddon

LOLOLOL. Your seriously going to say Trevor Hoffman does not deserve to be an all-star over Francisco Cordero. They have the same ERA, they have the same number of saves 18/20, and Cordero has actually blown one more save. Not that Cordero doesn't deserve it, but to use Trevor Hoffman as your scapegoat is a terrible basis.

P Ted Lilly, CHC Yovani Gallardo is having a better year.
