1B Mark Teixeira, NYY- Are you fucking kidding me. His HR totals are 2x as high because that damn ball park.
Agree.
2B Dustin Pedroia, BOS Kinsler is far more deserving but like tex hes in a big market and mvp last year.
The joke is on you here. Kinsler is hitting .253 compared to Pedroia's .290. That alone is enough to base an argument, but I could always delve a little deeper. Pedroia's OBP is 30 points higher than Kinslers, and they have the same number of walks. The only argue you can make is HR and RBI's..and last time i checked a 1/2 hitter does not drive in a ton of runs or hit a lot of home runs. Not to mention Kinsler is mired in an 0-21 slump/
OF Josh Hamilton, TEX The guy's a hell of a story but he's been hurt almost all year. When he's been healthy he hasn't done shit.
Why even try to make yourself look like your bringing up a point when it's obvious this pick was a joke, and it has been restated countless times before you. We get it, he was injured and it was fan vote.
Pitchers
P Andrew Bailey, OAK Shouldn't be in the game but the damn rule about having a player from each team.
What's wrong with Andrew Bailey. He's 4-1 with a 2.00 era in 37 appearances out of the pen. He's got 9 saves and 57 strikeouts, and has clearly been the most effective pitcher in late innings for Oakland. His WHIP is at 1.007, which is very strong, and has only allowed 11 runs all year. He's not the flashy pick, but is having a very good season flying under the radar.
P Brian Fuentes, LAA Yes he's leading the league in saves but look at hes era. (3.38) looks like he's coming in with alot of 2 or 3 run leads.
He's getting the saves in right? His ERA is inflated from a rough start to the season which showed a 5.63 era, but he didn't allow a run all through June. He has 24 saves, and a save is a save no matter how many runs come in.
P Tim Wakefield, BOS I understand its a lifetime achievement award but if we want bunch of dinosaurs why not Griffey. Ripkin and Gywnn got were selected in 01 over many other well deserving players.
Lifetime Achievement? Try a 10-3 record with 4.30 era. Not only does he deserve it because he's waited so long, but he played great.
Reserves
3B Michael Young, TEX Inge was more deserving but Young is having a decent year especially after moving to 3B
It's debatable, but Young should have the spot, i agree.
OF Curtis Granderson, DET Batting 256 w/18 homeruns. All star numbers. Fuck Joe Maddon
lol at .256 as a leadoff hitter with a .340 OBP and only 14 steals suddenly warrant starting status. Reserve role is fine for Granderson.
OF Ben Zobrist, TB Batting 281 w/16 homeruns. Definitely all star numbers. Fuck Joe Maddon again.
dude, you do know Joe Maddon is his coach..right?
National League
Pitchers
P Francisco Cordero, CIN Trevor Hoffman is having a great year but again that stupid 1 from each team rule.
LOLOLOL. Your seriously going to say Trevor Hoffman does not deserve to be an all-star over Francisco Cordero. They have the same ERA, they have the same number of saves 18/20, and Cordero has actually blown one more save. Not that Cordero doesn't deserve it, but to use Trevor Hoffman as your scapegoat is a terrible basis.
P Ted Lilly, CHC Yovani Gallardo is having a better year.
Agreed.
Reserves
3B Ryan Zimmerman, WSH Zimmerman is an outstand player, imo Adam Dunn deserved to be the Nats player. Anyways Pablo Sandoval should be the backup 3B
You mentioned 3 different player, not sure what your idea is right here.
Snubs
David Aardsma- 1.41 ERA, 17/18 in saves. 38.1 innings pitched. Probably got jewed the most out of all the players.
Russel Branyan- Batting 293, 20 HR, 385 obp.
Cliff Lee- he's 4-8 on a bad team otherwise he would be an allstar.
