I want to say that Twitch traffic on the Internet is the 3rd largest of any website today, which is why Google bought them. That leads me to your next point, Google is never going to stand up because they are an advertising company and copyright holders buy advertising. Google is not the magnanimous friend to the consumer that a lot of people want to be believe to be the case.

The biggest market is e-sports. League of Legends or Dota 2 is usually top on Twitch in terms of concurrent viewers. I guess it's the strategy and tactics that make the games interesting to watch.

I've mainly watched streams of games that I am interested in buying. Since most companies aren't doing demos anymore, it's the only real way to get a look at the full game before purchasing. Some people were also streaming SOCOM 2 over Xlink Kai a few months ago. I watched that shit for three hours one night just reminiscing about all the great times I had.

I think users are getting the shaft having entire videos taken down over snippets of audio. Google comes dangerously close to backlash and YT hasn't gotten any better because of G+. Defending these small things would help community relations.

I like to watch people go for world records. For example on Call of Duty: Black Ops I & II playing Zombies. Also watching speed runs through games like GTA III is fun to watch. Multiple people on here twitch and it's fun to pop in and see them game.

I've checked in on Sawrley and Dizzle maybe a total of three times, once on the PS4, and that was really just to send them messages to fuck with them. I would much rather be PLAYING a game than watching someone else do it.

Amazon does pretty good at marketing, Google obviously being an advertising company could have pushed Twitch ads and bumped them up the search engine results. The downside of Google would have been all of the copyright issues that would have resulted when they started running their scripts to catch somebody playing a song in the background while they broadcast a game. Happens to YouTube videos all of the time and it keeps you from monetizing the video and in some cases deletion of your video all together. Google is draconian in their enforcement of copyright infringement, even when any sane person would agree none exists.
