You think we're in hell now, wait until we give Noah a long term extension. Paying the luxury tax for a 4-6 seed always a great idea.
 
Noah is a very very nice player, he can rebound, he gives you nrg off the bench, he plays defense, and sometimes he can even finish near the rim....

but he has a ceiling, he's a great role player

Carmelo Anthony is a superstar, a 26 y/o superstar entering the prime of his career; meaning his best days are in front of him...

Players' of Melo's caliber are few and far in btwn, and in a situation where he is for sale, and the asking price is a Joakim Noah, you jump on that deal...

you jump on the chance to put a DRose/Melo tandem on your court every night, you jump on the chance to unite two young studs in the prime of their careers...

signing Carlos Boozer and keeping Noah shows your fanbase that you are commited to competing in the eastern conference...

Aquiring a Carmelo Anthony shows your fanbase that you are commited to winning Championships...

YET if Melo goes to the Nets, idk what to do. I'll have mixed feelings, since this is exactly what I wanted the Nets to do before they decided to leave Jersey.

So far everyone here in Chicago that I tell we should get rid of Noah for Melo flips out. They say Noah is too valuable.. blah blah blah. Another one I love is "Noah has improved every year" Okay, well Melo is proven 28ppg guy. You trade Noah's 10rpg, for that in a heartbeat.
 
It's a proven fact that Noah will continue to exponentially improve every single year and by the year 2018 be an unstoppable force in the NBA.

Or he'll max out as a double-double guy who misses time with nagging injuries and a hurt foot, while giving a lot of effort on the floor but not really possessing an offensive move.

An NBA source said that Carmelo Anthony's arrival for media day in Denver on Monday would mean that the proposed trade to send him to New Jersey is dead.

The Nuggets are reportedly shopping Anthony to alternative suitors like Philadelphia for Andre Iguodala and Golden State for Stephen Curry. It is not clear whether Anthony would agree to sign a contract extension with either team. But it is possible that the Sixers would be willing to make a move for Anthony without an extension, in order to shed the long-term contract of Iguodala.
