Are Vikings now Superbowl favourites?

Puts them back in the conversation... but they need to start winning now. Their next 4 games are brutal. If they go 2-2, or heaven forbid 1-3, they may find themselves out of the race altogether.

Facres first 3 games this season... 597 Yards, 2 tds, 6 Ints and a 1-2 record...

I could be wrong but I don't think the Vikes have a chance to win the Superbowl with Favre at the helm.

From watching the Lions vs Vikings game I noticed something lacking from Favres game that has been there his whole career... his passion of the game. The same thing that made Favre a great player and fun to watch.

Don't get me wrong I think the addition of Moss is a great move for the Vikings, and I think Favre will be able to put together a respectable season. But Superbowl? No. Not yet atleast.

I agree with you in that Favre has looked pretty careless so far, but they've only played 3 games, and they lost their first 2 by a combined 9 points, games in which Favre looked absolutely horrible.

The fact that they lost to the Saints (3-1) on the road and Miami (2-2), by just 9 points in which Favre turned the ball over 5 times, shows their potential.

I really feel like Favre is just kind of taking it easy right now, he hasn't looked "fired up" at all.

I think this monday nights game @ the Jets will give us a better idea of how good the Vikings, and Favre, can be this season. Don't know if they will win, but I definitely don't think they will be blown out because I think Favre will just play smarter than he has been.

Farve also wasn't coming off ankle surgery and had 100% healthy Sidney Rice and Harvin out there.

Your telling me Farve with those two healthy again and a motivated Randy Moss isn't going to be able to get back to last years form?

There's no way he gets "back to last year's form." He won't be sniffing 33 TDs and he'll definitely throw more than 7 INTs.

But that doesn't matter.

All the Vikings need to do is get to the playoffs. Rice should be 100% healthy and have a couple games under his belt to shake out the cobwebs by then.

All they need to do is sneak into the playoffs. I don't think any team in the league would want to go up against that Vikings team in the playoffs.

Favre "getting into form" doesnt mean he throws 30 TDs and 10 picks. It just means playing like last year. If he plays like that, and my guess is he probably will with Moss, Rice, Shiancoe and Peterson, then we have another shot at the Superbowl.

That said, I'm not criticizing the move. It was a good one for the Vikes. If Moss can resuscitate the season, it's worth a stupid 3rd round pick.

Favre really hasn't played that bad, though. Of course he has thrown some terrible picks but he's also made some plays that Tarvaris Jackson couldn't make in his wildest dreams. There is no arguing that the Vikings offense was instantly better as soon as Moss showed up. There is no denying that. Did it equate to wins? Obviously not.

Either way, obviously, this didn't work out for the Vikings because Favre and Moss just don't have the mental energy to put forth the effort required. Physically, they are still good football players. Not even close to what they once were but it really seemed like neither cared all that much. Too many distractions and too much bullshit surrounding the Vikings.

Childress needs to be fired asap.

Despite Moss' outburst, which had to be addressed (by fine and/or suspension) I don't see the sense in this move.

A team can't win when a coach has lost his players. Both Favre and Moss have been in the league long enough to know better.
