I downloaded Watlz with Bashir and am very excited to watch it, it looks incredibly original. I'll admit I'm not as captivated by the idea of a biopic about a gay politician but I will make an effort to watch it too.

The animation is absolutely gorgeous and is the determining factor in making what would be a good documentary an outstanding one. The narrative is incredibly personal and honest, there are no biased agendas that are often present in any sort of political documentaries. Highly recommended to anyone.

Definitely not what I expected from the director of Oldboy. The style was extremely unique, super colorful and surreal, kind of like some of Michel Gondry's stuff. The story was kind of disjointed and quirky but it was so original and refreshing it wasn't too distracting.

The directing and editing were both phenomenal, pacing seemed perfect as is the case for all the Danny Boyle movies I've seen. I just had a hard time buying into the plot overall throughout the movie though. There were too many instances where I had trouble suspending my disbelief which took me out of the story. The acting was fine, I was especially impressed with the young child actors, but there were just too many plot points with convenient coincidences that made it hard for me to fully buy into the movie.

Even though I pretty much knew the whole plot from years of it being referenced and whatnot, it was still extremely entertaining throughout. I'll admit some of the dialogue made me cringe a little but in the scope of the movie there is really very little to complain about.

The writing was awful and nonsensical, but there's no reason for anyone to expect anything otherwise. With the perfect campy 80's horror movie premise there were SO many different directions they could have taken for the movie to make it more entertaining, but instead they did a little bit of everything which caused some pretty huge peaks and valleys in entertainment value.

They throw in a little anti-corporation satire, and surprisingly only a little traditional horror that would have scared the shit out of me as a kid. If there was more of either of these I would be sold. However, there was way too much conspiracy-investigation shit that takes its self way too seriously. It's easily the worst part of the movie and takes up the majority of the plot.

The best scenes by far were those with Paul Sorvino (Paulie from Goodfellas) in what almost seemed like a cameo if he were someone famous at the time. He was just really funny.

Fun and creepy in the right amounts. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a solid 80's vampire movie. It didn't really leave any kind of lasting impression on me though, I am pretty surprised it was remade unless it has a larger cult following than I thought.

A largely forgotten classic in my eyes. It's funny, visually spectacular throughout, and is hugely ambitious in its scope. It draws somewhat from 1984 in its premise but the tone and objectives of the movie vary enough from its apparent inspiration that it still feels wholly unique. There were very few noticeable lulls and it moves surprisingly quickly despite being almost two and a half hours long. My one complaint would be the performances as a whole were certainly nothing special, although I thought Jonathan Price fit perfectly in his part.

I remember seeing The Stuff years ago when it first hit VHS! Don't really remember any details, though.

Yes, Fright Night has a rather sizable cult following. It also helps that ever since the first Twilight we've been in a full-blown vampire craze. Just watched it again recently, myself. Still solid.

I may be the only one but I just can't get into Brazil. Tried it twice and came away unamazed. I may try again at some point.
