Or hopefully these spineless twerps actually use the full ten.

I abstained from my final spot because I couldn't choose between Palmeiro, Raines, Schilling, Sosa, etc. Todd Walker gets it because he was my hero growing up attending LSU baseball camps.

Yeah, its a loaded year, but you have guys like Raines, Murphy, and Schilling getting in, too. Not exactly surefire HOFers, and I don't really see why those guys should get in over Biggio.

That's because they are drawing closer and closer to getting off the ballot while Biggio will have plenty of years still. Schilling is a choice I'd probably have to do more research on.

He managed to skirt any PED implications, and keep in mind that the Mitchell Report was centered around the clubhouses of the Yankees & Mets during the time he was playing in New York.

I can't fathom not voting for him based on what he did on the field. He's arguably the greatest hitting catcher of all time. He's arguably the greatest catcher of all time, period.

With that said, Jeff f'n Bagwell didn't get in. So who knows.

I heard Piazza was gay. I also heard that when Piazza was remodeling his house, he used non-union laborers.

No way Piazza is mentioned in the same breath as Johnny Bench and Yogi Berra for the greatest catcher of all time. Piazza doesn't have their postseason resume, durability, or defensive skills.

I prefer Bench overall. I think Piazza was a better hitter than Berra, obviously he was not good defensively and Berra was regarded well, but none of us saw him either. Interesting that the bWAR is identical (56.1), with Berra making up the batting difference with his defense.

I wouldn't deny Piazza his HOF spot...he was a unique player. That said, I think the gap between Berra/Bench and "Catcher #3" is pretty significant, be it Piazza or anyone else.
