The tides have turned in the AFC East. Finally, the Pats have competition.

I still see New England as the overwhelming power in that division and the other three teams as 8-8 or 7-9 teams that get an extra win or two added to their record by playing each other.

Miami - average 8-8 or 9-7. Same for the Jets.
Bills a 7-9 team that might get to 8 or 9 if Owens produces and Lynch plays more than 12 games.

Why do Pats fans keep sticking up for McDaniels and trying to make Cutler look like an idiot, did not realize homerism extended that far. Clearly something happened, regardless of what BB says to the media.

All I'm trying to say is that if Cutler is going off of media reports, that could possibly prove to be false, then he is running himself out of town. You stated before that it was a huge risk franchising Cassel and that the GM who traded for him should be fired on the spot. If a trade was offered to you for a 1st and 3rd rounder, over one 2nd rounder, which would you take? BB isn't dumb enough to pass that up, therefore I was just throwing the theory out there that maybe there weren't discussions as significant as we think and that Cutler could be causing all of this turmoil himself.

Miami had a weak schedule last season which I'm not denying. We're most likely 1 or 2 solid drafts away from having a real legit Super Bowl contender. I think with the new regime Miami is going to continue to overachieve. We weren't a 11-5 team last year and we sure didn't have the talent to compete with the NFL's best, but Miami had heart and fought tooth and nail in every game last season. Miami will be better this season. With a tough record I still see a reasonable shot at the AFC East Title.

With all that said I still think New England is the team to beat in the division.

Unless Ginn develops as a WR overnight (or they draft a playmaking receiver), I don't see the Dolphins' offence being good enough this year.
Other than Ronnie Brown, I just don't see a difference-maker on that team.
Pennington is what he is, a good system QB who can only go so far in the playoffs because of weather conditions and his lousy arm.

That has more to do with his arm strength then anything. Cutler is a better quarterback in every aspect of the game then Cassel. Cutler is proven, while Cassel has one good year under his belt in one of the best teams in the NFL. He's now with KC or he would've been with Denver, no matter what style of offense he is running he still wouldn't be the player he was in New England. Cutler can learn the offense and in the process he'd still be a better quarterback then Cassel would.

Mcdaniels wanted his own guy, he failed. Now he's losing one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.

Fuck his life.

Jay Cutler had 2 good seasons, Matt Cassel had 1 good season. I would say both of them are not proven quartebacks in the NFL. So I dont get why people are saying Cutler is proven when he hasnt been in the NFL that long and hasnt done much since being in.

BTW I am not sold on Cassel yet. I think he can have very good career but just not totally sold on him yet. He is a very good short passer and has very good accuracy with the short pass, but cant throw deep to save his life. McDaniels is most likely going to run the same offense that he ran last year with Cassel at QB. Which is why I could see him wanting Cassel over Cutler. If Cutler stays in Denver, which I think he might, then I think the Broncos should sign a veteran QB just to talk to Cutler and kinda be his mentor.
