What the fuck is up w/ fighters like Leonard Garcia and Frausto who swing reckless and routinely hit nothing but air, but somehow gets love from the judges? Makes no sense and you can't even justify it as ring generalship.

yep, thats why Noons has close decision wins against guys like Huen, technical striking with body shots just dont score, judges loves haymakers that beat up the air

Crowd was like 3 rows deep, not good

Not a very good event, two 5 rounders with not much action is never a good thing

I knew Zoila would pull the upset, US MMA makes it easier to pick fights like this, I wont call it a robbery, could have been a draw, 3-2 Zolia or 3-2 Fujii, they both didnt do much, blah

Lombard started strong...for the first round, than gassed and did a UFC audition with his snuggie tactics, Shlemenko is a tough bastard, like to watch him scrap

Yeah, Fujii was disappointing IMO. Why did she have zero luck on the ground? Props to Frausto who fought her gameplan to the tee and took advantage of Fujii's weaknesses.

Lombard hinted he wasn't all together but from the 3-5 rounds, he was going through the motions. Just happened that Shlemenko had no answer for his takedowns. Looked like Lombard was swinging for the KO early in round one and when he couldn't get it, he just went into safe mode for the rest of the fight.

Not the best way to end the season, but not god awful either.

I laughed when Lombard said he wanted Jacare's belt.

Now we have two Bellator champions calling out two Strikeforce champions. Hmm...

Frausto was clearly bigger/stronger than Fujii and you could see she had enough trouble trying to take her down late in the fight when Frausto was exhausted. Pressing for takedowns early while was fresh would have put herself in a position to be bullied a la Pene, but she definitely should have been working for more takedowns in the latter part of the fight. Two attempts simply wasn't enough. And Fujii was outstriking Frausto, so I don't exactly see how Frausto took advantage of her weakness, unless you count Fujii's lack of KO power. :dontknow:

Fujii wasn't robbed like Aguilar was, but it was a shitty decision nonetheless. If the third judge simply had a realistic card, then I wouldn't exactly be vexed about it. Under NO circumstance did Frausto win 49-46. But fuck, constantly being cornered for four rounds, getting outstruck and swinging at air like a mad wo/man is a winning recipe nowadays. Fuck US judging.

And Frausto said she's never fighting at 115 again, essentially vacating the title she just won. :smh:

BTW, I scored it 10-10, 10-9 Fuji, 10-9 Frausto, 10-10, 10-9 Fujii.

To be honest, I fell asleep and missed rounds 2 and 3. Woke up in the middle of round 4.

The air strikes made me tired.

This was no a robbery at all, it was a razor thin close fight that could have gone either way, or even a draw. None of those three outcomes could be seen as outlandish. And I don't think the 49 score for Frausto was terrible, any of those rounds could have reasonably went either way. All that means is the 2nd or 5th went to Frausto on that card. Meh.

Interesting. I assume you had 1 for Zoila because of the big kick at the end? I had that round for Fujii because she controlled the majority of it safe for the closing however many seconds after that kick landed. Wasn't enough for me to change the round.

Yeah, I felt like it was razor sharp until the final seconds. I feel like the end of the round gave the edge to Frausto, because I always try to go with the fighter who caused the most damage or came close to finishing. Frausto caused the most damage.
