Big 10 / ACC challenge

We are also missing a starter and one of our best recruits that came in this year that was suppose to be our first big off the bench.

Is the Big Ten legit, this season? I wouldn't say so, based off of this performance it's clear to see that the ACC might be in a down year. I'm not a real close follower of college basketball, until the conference play begins. So I'll save final judgment until then. It's nice that the Big 10 finally got one over on the ACC. Go Bucks!

Hey, the Big10 won one! I predict the Cubs will win the World Series next year now.

Is Duke really any better than a team like Gonzaga or Butler? Some unathletic white guys who can shoot, nothing more. A buddy of mine said that Duke hasn't had an elite athlete like a Grant Hill or a Johnny Dawkins for awhile...I said screw Grant Hill, if Duke had Robert Brickey they'd still be ten times better off than they are now. They have no rebounders, no bangers. I blame Coach K. It shouldn't be that difficult to recruit a hard-nosed big body.

Did anyone watch the Illinois-Clemson game? There was a horrific sequence in the 1st half, which allowed Clemson's lead to balloon nearly out of control. Coming out of a full timeout, play begins and then there is an immediate whistle. Illinois coach Bruce Weber gets nailed for a technical for no apparent reason. Replays show as play began, Weber still had his clipboard in his hands, so he tossed it backwards towards the bench. After getting hit with the T, Weber is screaming at the refs "What did I do?", because the refs fanned out to the far corners of the court and refused to give any explanation for what just happened. On the next play, an Illini player hacked a Clemson player and the refs called an INTENTIONAL FOUL. HA! I was waiting for the next play to have the refs disqualify Illinois for having surly looks on their faces and award the victory to Clemson.

Nolan Smith and Andre Dawkins are pretty athletic, but both are undersized and aren't the type of players that can lead your team. The one great athlete that he had was Gerald Henderson and he left for the NBA. Coach K has issues with guys leaving early for the NBA, so he doesn't go after the one-and-done type athletes..instead he's okay with having the unathletic, but skilled white boys. This is why Duke hasn't been great in a while, because in today's college basketball you need NBA talent to get a title. Someone should tell Coach K to get with the times.
