Say what you will about Lovie Smith, but he was a consistent winner.

One playoff appearance in the last six seasons, and three in nine years overall.

And most of the Bears major flaws were never corrected year after year.

I think teams can do a lot better than Smith, and honestly I don't think he deserves another shot. He will get one though, because NFL owners love retreads.

Problem is that the Bills need an offensive guy right now. Bringing in another defensive guy like Lovie Smith does nothing to change that franchise.

IMO, the Bills bigger issues this year were on D, not O.

I agree Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't the long-term answer, but it wasn't him giving up all those points.
Other than Steve Johnson (and maybe Scott Chandler), who did Fitz have to throw too?

It's the offensive system that is stale. They need to spice it up. Sticking to a single defensive scheme wouldn't hurt either. The switching between Cover 2, 3-4, and base 4-3 every year is killing their personnel
