I've been slacking lately. I only faced Starved Beast once laat night to get a feel for him; he doesn't seem too tough. Got him down to quarter health before he took me out. I'm a level 31 right now. I'll have to sneak some time in tomorrow between Madden games.

I've been slacking lately. I only faced Starved Beast once laat night to get a feel for him; he doesn't seem too tough. Got him down to quarter health before he took me out. I'm a level 31 right now. I'll have to sneak some time in tomorrow between Madden games.

its a cool fight......mechanics are pretty different from the 1st two bosses.

it was funny cause when i was making my way to Blood Starve, mmRed sent me PSN MSG and gave me a few pointers.
which actually worked. had to do another hour+ of farming but it i guess it did help.

it took me 3 attempts get him which made me happy since it took me a week for Father G; lol.

getting to know your characters weakness and strengths is really making it fun for me.

I didn't mind the enemies there too much, but I would constantly get lost. Then there was the time I above a little gorge over two of the bigger snake, three headed guys, and kind of lining up my drop attack annnnd...one of the little fuckers creeps up and hits me from behind, knocking me into the pit, and getting me just savaged by the previous mentioned big dudes. I've played a lot of, or all of, the Souls games to date, and it still ceases to amaze me how quickly things can go to shit.

Also, fuck Rom. I hate him.

Yup - place is definitely confusing (although, it wouldn't be too bad if I just follow the lamps) but... I like exploring every crevice in games.


The enemy design in this game is fascinating by the way.

Defeated the Blood Starved Beast last night after a few rage attempts. Got so bad I had to go back and farm some more antidote and bullets. Calmed down, and I swear he was the easiest boss I've face the 8th time. :lol2:

Once you can time down his swipe and stun him, it's a wrap.

Question though, I know the Chalice's are used for dungeons, but I was wondering if the dungeons are side quests or what? I heard they are pretty good to farm items in, but I didn't attempt one yesterday.

If you're facing the doll woman and turn left, you can use the crucible plus ritual blood to open up a 3 level dungeon where you will in turn get stuff to open up other dungeons. It basically serves as the introduction (at least by Souls game standards) of the random dungeon system. I still have yet to really find anything about that feature that I really like, but I suppose it could be a more unique way of grinding, if you wanted to use it that way.

anyone here find the guy above the roof of the building with the shortcut to the lamp post? He asked to go back to the chapel but i saw the dude eating someone so I was like NO WAY MFER! Hit him a few times then he turned into monster. I cheesed him by backing into the hallway I came out from then just R2 him.

Sooo I think I may have went the wrong way or something, because I don't feel as if I should have been where I went...

 

After you beat the Starved Beast and that door on the right opens in the cathedral ward, I went across the bridge to the tower, went all the way to the top and the door was locked; well I went back to the bottom floor and dropped off the ledge which led around to another door inside the tower, but it features all broken wooden bridges and shit and you have to precisely drop down onto each ledge (I died about 4 times). Eventually you'll reach the bottom (which was scary because at one point you look down and you see pitch back, but hear the grumblings of a monster), well I slayed an enemy that I've never seen before (but wasn't too difficult) and I ended up getting the 'Beast Rune'. I opened up the door and was in what seemed like a completely different city (like the slums).

Long story short, I ended up eventually dying to the soul catcher or whatever he's called and instead of going back to the lamp, he put me in the Yahar'gul (the Unseen City) prison of some sorts. I eventually got back to the hunter's dream, but something tells me I shouldn't have even gotten down to the bottom of that tower and killed that enemy that gave me a Beast Rune and gotten to that slum part of the city.

I hope that all didn't sound too incoherent, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me out as to where the hell I just went and if I jumped way ahead? If so, I'm gonna have to go do some more exploring, because off the top of my head, I'm not exactly sure where I'm supposed to go right now.

i did something similar by going to the Ya'Gral Unseen city - with those Judo Mudda Fuckasszzz;

they annoying as fuck but thats kinda where i found a few cheezy spots to farm some nice BEs.
do the one Judo dude by lantern and aggro pull towards hallway door to the opposite side (to the right facing lantern).
then i went up steps to ledge, then aggro the Piggie and killed him from ledge.....
got to lantern to hunter dream;
rinse repeat by going to the new open lantern.

anyway;
you need to make way to Amelia - from Cathedral ward.
if you need a few hints - let me know. took me awhile before i had to read about the area

It's also a really nice area to try and farm some twin blood stones, or whatever the upgrade items are called. Once you get the judo sack shits down.
