The Braves lineup is struggling right now so if he's running smoothly he shouldn't have a problem with them. Any word on how hard he's throwing the fastball now? Love me some Smoltz.

They said he has topped out at 93, but is averaging between 88-91. I think it is pretty good and they are still gonna give him 3 more rehab starts. hopefull I can get tix when he pitches in pawtucket

good game today, caught a couple of lucky breaks with double plays (wtf was Granderson doing). It was also a good example of why you dont bring in a closer when its not a save situation.

I live in CT. Born 1989. Yankees fan because of my uncle, Cowboys fan because of bandwagon in early 90s but haven't and won't even jump off.

good game tonight, Jon Lester was dominate. Unfortunately he lost the no hitter and the shut out but still the best pitching performance for the Red Sox this season.

ughh I wish the Red Sox would just let Dice-K pitch the way he wants.They should just let him throw 160 pitches one game to see how he does.

Mark Prior disagrees

he may disagree but when Dice-K pitched in Japan he would throw about 150+ pitches per game. Although they do have a 6 man rotation I dont think the extra days rest would matter because Dice-K doesnt have a traditional routine that most pitchers have.

According to ESPN.com's Buster Olney, the Red Sox have had conversations with the Oakland A's about shortstop Orlando Cabrera. Cabrera signed a one-year, $4 million deal with Oakland prior to this season, that includes a bonus of $250,000 if traded. The 34-year-old is currently hitting .239 with two homers and 19 RBI, carrying a .289 on-base percentage. Olney also reports that the Sox and Pirates continue to have discussions regarding shortstop Jack Wilson, who is owned approximately $5.8 million for the rest of the season, including the buyout on an option for 2010.

I hope this happens. Both guys are about 100x better than Lugo defensively. We should of resigned Cabrera instead of signing Renteria after 04.
