Speaking on the LAW radio show in Canada, Flair blasted Hart: "He is a piss-ant in the history of wrestling.

"He has the nerve to compare himself to me! Let's get realistic. If you put Bret Hart in your left hand and me in your right hand, compare the career...who is he?

"I wrestled everybody in the business, for an hour each night. Harley Race, Dory Funk, Jack and Jerry Brisco, who is Bret Hart?

"He is a legend in his own mind. He lives in his own little world...he screws his own family around. Who is Bret Hart?

"In my world he is a nobody!"

During a 2005 interview with SunSport Bret shared his thoughts on the Nature Boy.

He said: "If you ask me who the most overrated guy in the history of the business is, then it would be Ric Flair.

"I guess that maybe somewhere in his career he was good, but even when I won the world title from him in the WWE I thought he wasn't that hot.

"He never impressed me after that and he definitely doesn't impress me now.

"I think that, like Hogan, if you've seen one Ric Flair match then you've seen them all.

Hart was a star in a down time for the WWE when they had to get the focus off the steroid freaks.

Once the WCW/WWE wars got heated, he was pushed out of the top spot because he wasn't good enough. Period.

A true pro would have done what he was told in Montreal. Hart was told to drop the belt, he refused. That's not how pro wrestling works.

There were tons of wrestlers who were more entertaining in the ring, on the mic, or both. Hart was always near the top, but he wasn't even close to being the best wrestler of his time. Michaels had him beat in every area.

That being said... I cannot stand Flair. I know, he was a legend and all, but I never liked him even a little. He had the most annoying voice and wasn't a great technical wrestler. Ya, he was great on the mic, but when everything comes out sounding like shit, it really loses its effect.

A true pro would have done what he was told in Montreal. Hart was told to drop the belt, he refused. That's not how pro wrestling works.

I don't have time right now, but you really need to understand the facts of the situation.

First of all, Hart was arguably one of the three biggest stars in all of wrestling in 1997, and was a consistant rating mover. The idea he "wasnt good enough" is absurd. He was being pushed out because McMahon was in financial ruins and couldnt afford the 20 year multi million dollar deal he gave him. It was 100% financial.

As for Montreal, Hart had creative control written into his deal. He offered to drop the belt, at minimum, 15 other times before and after Montreal...to multiple opponents, including Shawn Michaels. It was his contractual right to pick the date. He could have refused to drop it to Shawn too, but he never did. He just didnt want to drop it in Montreal.

McMahon gave him a bad contract he couldnt afford, then told Hart to go negotiate with WCW so he could get out of it. Hart never wanted to leave in the first place.
