Bryce Harper Called Up. Slateman Cums HARD

I would absolutely not have booed him. For one, it is a fucking 19 year old kid, what is the point? For two, I just think it was a cool baseball moment to see him debut at Dodger Stadium, in front of a packed house while the Dodgers are playing great baseball. Felt like one of those special atmospheres, and you'd think those who paid money to be there would know to just shut up and soak it in.

Trying to think now if I have seen any historic debuts, don't think I have. The best one I remember is Jermaine Dye, when he hit a HR in first AB. I also saw Octavio Dotel's first major league start with the Mets.
 
I don't care how cocky he is, I love it. Baseball needs more characters like that.

But thinking it was cocky to throw off his helmet rounding first...c'mon now.

Me either. I got the DVD of Strasburg's debut like 3 months after it happened when I was deployed. Pretty much better than Christmas

They showed some of Harper's BP in the pregame show on Sunday. It was awesome. His BP made me think of a left-handed Matt Holliday (when he was on the Rockies dropping bombs). I'd like to watch the BP show before a Nats/Marlins game just to see how Stanton and Harper both do.
