[ALL] Call of Duty: Black Ops

I don't think I've been so aggravated with a game in a long while. So I'm playing the Campaign mode on Veteran and on mission 3 in the tunnels at the end it's absolutely ridiculous. Enemies keep respawning and shit and it's just annoying. After bout 45 mins I give up for tonight. Try at it again tomorrow.

Other than that loving the story so far.

Am I the only one that isn't crazy about the maps this year? They seem to all be made for the "run and gunner" types. There isn't much balance in them. In that I mean most of the maps seem to have the same basic "layout"/'theme". A thin loop that basically runs around the outside of them with a cluster fuck of houses/buildings/ect all over the middle of them.

They all feel like they are basically set up like Favela and to a lesser extent Boneyard from MW2. I know you have to have some run and gun maps on there..but they all seem to kind of be set up for that.

The maps don't have anything like "Depot", "Afghan" or "Safehouse", or that one map..the name escapes me know. With some blown out farm houses, a cemetary, some broken down tanks, and in the middle there is that little undergorund dirt bunker type thing where clusterfuck always happens.

Maybe it's a selfish, style of play thing by me but I always enjoyed working the edges of maps, not getting into massive fire fights and strategically picking my spots. That's how I play(ed) my best. I would do run and gun when I had to on levels like Terminal, Favela, Boneyard but I enjoyed the balance of the maps. Maybe I haven't played enough of the maps yet but it just doesn't feel like there is a great balance to the maps for different styles of play.

Maybe it's just me?

I still love the game but I'm not incredibley impressed with the multiplayer map selection/setup/design.

and I agree. Although I don't remember all the maps off the top of my head right now. Nuketown (If that's the right name) is the biggest clusterfuck ever. It is the smallest map I have ever played on and your opponents spawn behind you every time.

Nuketown is fun...sometimes.

I'm not crazy about voting to go back to the previous map and what not. Too many times I've played the same map for 2 or 3 games in a row. I'd rather have them just have a "Next" or "Random" option

and your right, Nuketown isn't that bad. You just can't camp because someone will ALWAYS come up behind you.

Which isn't all bad. IMO it's a smaller version of Boneyard from MW2. It'd be a great change of pace map if there was some more map balance and you didn't have people voting for it over and over so you play it 2-3 straight times.

I am on the 2nd mission I think and keep dying because I have to protect that dumbass and the enemy only concentrates their fire on me. My teammates just are crouching in a corner and yelling.

AI is fucking terrible. Single player was crap in my opinion.

Have you guys played Combat Training against Veteran bots? They're fucking aimbots. :smh:

Wait until you get to Vietnam. You will die so many times its not even funny. Especially at on particular part. It took me forever to realized what I was supposed to do, but once I figure it out it wasn't bad.

This is what made me stop playing the last one. never finished the campaign because it always felt I was playing by myself with no help from the "teammate" I miss Rainbow Six

And even with having the pistol it took me 10 deaths to realize I had to shoot the people on the side and then another 10 to realize I had to hold on the stick and push up against the cart as I was doing it.

Well I got past that part. The part I am stuck on where I just shut the game off is:

 

when you have to follow the guy and the enemy blows open the door in the basement and you have to fend them off. I can fend them off but then the guy says to "clear a path for me." I go to clear a path and get shit on. That shit is going down when I play it tonight

On a sidenote. I did love that first part and up to where I am now. It is just tough when your computer teammates are jerking off in the corner and your eating bullets and grenades.
