Castle's Weekly Start-em / Sit-em Thread

Welcome to my weekly start-em / sit-em thread. Each week I will be choosing up to 10 scenarios and will track my progress throughout the year. You post, I predict. Along with my prediction I will include one or two sentences about why I chose player A over player B.

I am fully aware that there are likely many people on this site who are much smarter and know more about football than I do, but I'd like to think that I know a little about fantasy football. And unlike most fantasy football websites or shows, I'll track my progress throughout the year so you can see how crappy of a job I've done. If anyone else would like to play along, feel free to make a post below to track your progress.

Rules:

- I'll use the below simplified scoring system for official results so I can quickly tally the points. If you don't like it, IDGAF.
- I will only comment on one-for-one start-em / sit-em scenarios. So don't give me a list of four players and ask me to pick one. Post two players and I'll pick one. (removed this rule as of week 3 due to shortage of potential picks).
- No kickers or defense.
- Please post each player's opponent and indicate who is the home and away team.
- If two players score within 30 points of each other it will be considered a push (effective week 2)
- I'm sure that I'll think of more rules as this goes on....


Scoring:

- 1 point per passing yard
- 2 points per rushing or receiving yard
- 5 points per reception
- 60 points per TD (rushing or passing)
- (-45) for fumble or interception

Shonn Greene. Any other week it would probably be MJD, but this week I'd go with Greene since it's not clear how much MJD will play.

Titus Young @ STL or BenJarvus GE @ Bal.

Im leaning with young.

Tough one, but I'm going with BJE. Titus Young is the high risk, high reward play here. However, I'm not really buying in to the Titus Young hype. BJE isn't flashy, but he's the primary back and I like Cincy's offensive line, and who know's how solid Baltimore's D will be without Suggs.

Michael Crabtree (@GB) versus Demaryius Thomas (vs Pit).

Go.

Go with Crabtree. I like Thomas a lot this year if Manning stays healthy, but I could see SF getting in to a shootout with GB.

Justin Blackmon @ Min or Kendall Wright v. NE

Don't really like either, but if I have to choose I'll go with Wright. Britt is out and the Titans could be playing behind quite a bit.

Too early in the week to predict any of these. Lynch with back spasms, Richardson with knee, etc.

I really don't think that Peterson will play much if at all this week. Not making an official prediction here as it's too early in the week, but McCluster may be the better option.

I agree, go with DHB. I think both receivers will end up with comparable numbers by year end, but Johnson will be smothered by Revis.

Two players already mentioned, but here goes:

Blackmon is the pick here. Moore is hampered by a hamstring injury, which really hurts a speed guy like Moore.

Jermichael Finley vs SF or Jared Cook vs NE

Risky, but I'm picking Cook. Finley is a man-child, but just can't seem to get the looks from Rodgers.

I'd go with Peyton. I don't think that Peyton will return to "elite" QB status this year, but if healthy he'll be top 10. I've never liked Cutler as a fantasy QB because he is too inconsistent. Puts up great numbers one week, then nothing the next.
