In the CFL if someone kicks or punts the ball in the other teams end zone that team has to get the ball out or it counts as a point. Essentially there is no kneel down. Seeing as that was the final play in the game if the other team didn't get it out of the endzone it would of been a "rouge" and the FG kicking team would of got a point.

As far as punting it out. Wiki explains it good:



The five yard thing is you have to give the other team 5 yards when catching the kick. Unlike the NFL there is no fair catch in the CFL but players have to give 5 yards to the recieving player.

I kind of liked it.

It brings a certain level of excitement the league wouldn't have otherwise.

I don't think the NFL needs this rule, but the CFL needs every gimmick it can get to survive. This rule is kind of fun.

This is complete false. Other then the Argonauts, all other teams are routinely jam packing large stadiums full of fans. The CFL is very popular out West, and in Montreal. Even in Hamilton. Just the Argos that have an empty stadium.
