It's pretty much been said. I get it, everyone thinks it's cool, and I was the dunce of the thread. It happens.

To be clear though I didn't have a problem with user catching. I had a problem with people taking over their receiver mid route and running into my cornerback to create seperation. If that happened in the NFL or college it's offensive pass interference. I don't think I have ever seen an offensive PI called in Madden or NCAA.

I try to control the WR every time I pass the ball because I can usually put myself in a slightly better position to get yards after the catch. Bullet passes, deep lobs, anything. I never purposely bump into the corners to get seperation, though. I feel like I wouldn't even have enough time to do that. There is also the big risk of fucking up your route by doing this so it's not like some sort of automatic advantage. Every year my friends ask me how I user catch so well, they can't figure it out while I've been doing it since Madden 03.

I feel like and correct me if I am wrong, if someone is controlling the WR on a fly route, and you go to select your CB it always slows down for a split second even if you are holding the directional button in the correct direction. I feel like when I switch to the DB they slow down a bit which makes it worse.

I will practice with it a bit when I get home. This again could just be a result of me doing things the way I always have and not really trying it a different way.

Playing probably my third game online and I beat this guy who plays Florida (I am Wisconsin). He is running the crap out of his RB wide to my right side the first trip up the field the first quarter.

I select defend RUN RIGHT and begin to shut him down as I change my defense. No big deal, right.

The game gets into the 4th quarter and I'm up and begin to select defend PASS and he throws a couple of picks and I'm up 3 scores late and he disconnects.

I get a message about my CHEESE on predicting his runs/passes and how he is gonna report me. I laughed and went on to the next game.

Cheese?

I do have to agree with this.

I know in 2010 and even previous iterations there are certain deep passes that the CPU does that can just not be defended no matter what you do. But that's a different story.
