Chicago Bears users, do you have problems running the ball?

I'm lucky if I can average 2.0 per rush with Matt Fucking Forte in this bullshit game. It's a joke. It's like the CPU picked my play in Tecmo Bowl on every running play. At least once a game Cutler gets tackled before he hands the ball off. Reall?!? But I've tried other teams and don't have a problem.

What is it about the Bears in this game? All of their lineman are rated 80+ in all the major categories.

Now I know they are sucking it up in real life but there is zero chance EA could've predicted this. And yes, it's been like this since day one, before any updates.

I know at least one other member here, Wolo, has the same issues.

So if you would just tell me if you have the same problem and also what console you play on.

I don't have a problem running it most of the time. Sometimes it's tough but usually i can get a good ground game going

Well Forte does only average 2.5 rypg so far in these 3 games

I started out with the same exact problem as you have now when I first got the game (immediately started playing with the Bears on my 360). Here are some things I have had some success with when trying to run the football with Chicago:

-Use the hard-count. I'm not saying use it on every play or be as completely random with it as you can, but if you mix in that hard-count once in awhile so the CPU doesn't automatically jump the snap (they seem to do that a lot this year)

-Run some draw plays, especially those out of the shotgun. If you have been passing a lot, try a draw play out of a pass formation to catch the D off-guard.

-Shift your O-lines blocking coverage to fit the defense, or switch the play pre-snap and then shift the blocking.

-Don't try too many outside runs with Forte (the line is bad and he's just not that fast), rather work him between the tackles. And actually CUT with him through the holes in the line (Right Stick up-left/up-right) rather than juking or just turning the player. This usually gets him through the line well or even if he's hit, the tackle animation will carry the RB another 2-4 yards.

Do you mean using L2 before the snap? What's the deal with that? I never see the line do anything and it doesn't seem to change anything at all.

Really? He has an 89 in speed and 91 in acceleration.

Another thing I've noticed is that it seems that the CPU looks like they show blitz on 80% of the plays against me. It's fucking annoying.

I find it easy to run with the Bears, especially on counters and draws, don't run too many stretches or tosses because Forte doesn't have Reggie Bush speed.

Counters don't usually work well for me but I'll try more draws. I tend to shy away from them because they take so long to develop.

Great. In the latest update, Forte went down to 89 OVR and the whole line when down in the their RBK.

Gonna be harder to run now.

So I played my third preseason game in my franchise yesterday. Nearly every time I tried a draw it got stuffed. Same for draws. I just don't get it.

I was playing the Broncos and their blocking was unreal. They picked up every blitz and their line blocked impeccably. Moreno was averaging over 7 YARDS PER CARRY and Buckholter was doing about the same. But of course whenever I ran the ball...NOTHING. I think Forte was averaging 1.5 yards per carry. My breaking pount came when I tried to run a counter on 4th and 1. I had more blockers on the left than the Broncos had D-lineman so I figured 1 yard should be cake. I snap the ball and my FB McKie picks up a LB perfectly coming around the side. Then one of their lineman breaks free and is coming at Forte. I have my LT between me and the defender so I figure I'm golden. I follow behind him and all of a sudden he walks to the right, almost to GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE DEFENDER and of course I get tackled for a loss. I watched the replay several times and of course I was baffled although that shit happens all the time.

I watched a few other plays where the CPU broke off good runs. The suction bloking was a joke. There was a play when my lineman tried to make a beeline through a hole which would've led to Moreno being hit for a loss. Instead my player somehow slid towards their lineman and was blocked and Moreno scooted through the hole for a long game. But of course does suction blocking work for me? Fuck no! I wouldn't care about suction blocking if it worked evenly for both sides.

Fuck this game!

They' aren't great but they are basically all 80+ in nearly every rating category. I compare them to other teams that have no problems running the ball. There is no logic to it.

Gotta be patient with Forte, he's not really a speed back, not really a power back, u just gotta find the hole and hit it, you'll break a big one sooner or later, but don't be dissatisfied with 3 and 4 yard carries.

Run on downs they don't expect (2nd and longs).
Pitches and sweeps are your friend, but again, don't hit turbo right away.
Follow your highest-rating offensive linemen, motion WRs away from the side you're running to.

If I was getting 3 or 4 yards a pop, for the most part, I would be ecstatic. I'm averaging 1.5 yards a carry! I'm getting hit in the backfield constantly! And I just watch my lineman walk my defenders and not even attempt a block.

1) I don't. I said it numerous times in my other thread about my rushing issues.
2)I do. I've also mentioned how I could throw the ball five or more straight plays for and then try a quick run and the CPU just stuffs it in the backfield.
3)Pitches and sweeps are the worst for me in this game. My lineman either don't pull to block at all, they do pull but just walk right by defenders, my WR's just run right past defenders OR (one of my favorites) a defenders runs Forte down from behind. What a joke.
4) I try to run more to the left because Pace is my highest rated lieneman but he acts as brain dead as the others. I haven't really tried motioning WR's away from the side I'm running to that much. I'll try that but I really can't see that making that much of a difference.
